Pigeon Forge police and firefighters will soon have more room to grow. Crews broke ground on the new police and fire headquarters in Pigeon Forge on May 13.
The $46.5 million project will be right next to the Pigeon Forge City Hall, where the police and fire teams are currently located.
“Land in Pigeon Forge is very valuable,” said Eric Brackins, assistant city manager. “So now being able to expand, and just kind of take down the older buildings and build. It’s a centerpiece of the community, and so the location was important to stay where we are.”
The goal of the two new buildings is to give the agencies more space to grow.
“If you go in the current fire department or police station, we’re just bursting at the seams we need more space. We have so many officers, we have so many firefighters – they can expect a new state-of-the-art building with plenty of room for expansion in the future and just better conditions,” said Brackins.
The new fire headquarters is set to open summer of 2025 and the police headquarters will open in the summer of 2026.
