Sky: Milan prepare new offer for Valencia star after €20m bid was rebuffed – the latest

AC Milan strongly believe in Javi Guerra and are preparing a new offer to Valencia, according to a report.

Milan have been heavily linked with Guerra in the last few days, and multiple reports claimed a bid worth around €20m was sent earlier in the week. It was rejected, because Valencia plan to ask for at least €25m to sell their midfield star.

    Guerra: New bid ready

Sky confirm that Milan want to strengthen the midfield and are preparing a new offer to Valencia for Guerra. The first one was worth €16m plus €4m in add-ons and was not considered adequate by the Spanish club.

Having said goodbye to Tijjani Reijnders, it is time for Milan to strengthen the middle of the park and in addition to Luka Modric (plus possibly Granit Xhaka) the Rossoneri are trying to buy Guerra.

The Rossoneri directors are preparing an improved bid from a fixed base point of view, hoping that it will be the right one to convince the LaLiga side. They are tough to negotiate with as the Yunus Musah pursuit showed.

Milan decided to focus on the Spain U21 international because he has a rare mix of technical and physical qualities. Standing at 1.87m tall he has size but also technical ability, racking up three goals and three assists in 36 appearances in La Liga last season.

Given his yes’ – Romano states that Xhaka deal is progressing well with Milan

AC Milan want a new backbone in the midfield, and Granit Xhaka could be that player, it seems. With reports suggesting good things today.

There is a lot that needs to be studied about the business that Milan conduct this summer. After all, the management started the mercato at a disadvantage, failing to keep Tijjani Reijnders despite suggestions that he would stay.

So, there is a hill to climb. However, if the funds are allocated smartly and correctly, in the fans’ eyes, then there may be less haste.

    Xhaka’s approval

Earlier today, it was reported that the top midfield target, Xhaka, wants to leave Germany with the Rossoneri pressing heavily to buy him this summer. Now, the latest update has arrived from Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel (via Milan News).

“Milan continues to work hard on Granit Xhaka: there are constant contacts with the entourage. The Swiss has already given important openings, and the agreement with the player in the contractual terms is proceeding very well. Then we will have to understand how and if to obtain the yes of Bayer Leverkusen, who have already lost Xabi Alonso, Tah, Wirtz and Frimpong.”

Of course, the hurdle with Bayer Leverkusen still needs to be worked out. Nevertheless, it is a big sign, and it bodes well from here on out.

Bayern in talks to sign Leao from AC Milan

    Winger seen as Sane replacement

Babbel warns club not to go through with deal

It has been reported for some time that Leao is on Bayern’s wish list to replace Leroy Sane following his move to Galatasaray. The German giants were rejected by Liverpool-bound Florian Wirtz and have turned to the Portuguese winger, with Sport Bild reporting that sporting director Max Eberl has already spoken to him on the phone, after a secret meeting between Bayern and Leao’s advisors took place in Munich at the end of May.

Portugal v Spain – UEFA Nations League 2025 Final

Nevertheless, there are still doubts among those in charge at the Bundesliga champions, mainly due to Leao’s occasional defensive shortcomings. In addition, the 26-year-old was not always a regular at Milan last season and mostly came off the bench during Portugal’s Nations League triumph. Ex-Bayern and Liverpool defender Babbel says it would be a bad idea to go after Leao.

“I hope Bayern Munich doesn’t sign Rafael Leao, because he’s Leroy Sane 2.0,” the Euro 96 winner said in an interview with Sport Wetten Ohne Verifizierung. “You never see him play two good games in a row. That’s why I’m always surprised when his name comes up in the transfer window and he’s linked with a move to Bayern.”

In fact, Leao did not have a particularly outstanding 2024-25 season. In 50 competitive appearances for AC Milan, he scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists. Reports have circulated about a possible swap deal with Barcelona, which could see Leao move to the Catalans in exchange for Ronald Araujo.

Unlike Babbel, however, Sky expert Lothar Matthaus still sees Leao as the perfect new signing for Bayern, saying: “Leao can play on the wing and in the centre of attack,” Matthaus wrote in his Sky column. Although Leao is said to be “not an easy guy,” the 64-year-old added that “every artist has their quirks, and he is a player who brings dynamism.”

    WHAT’S NEXT?

In addition to Leao, Bayern are also said to be interested in Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain and Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao. A move for Williams is considered unlikely, as he is said to prefer a transfer to Barcelona and, according to Sport Bild, is demanding too high a salary for Bayern.

According to Bild, Barcola, 26, changed agents and will be represented from August by former professional Moussa Sissoko, whom Eberl knows very well. However, PSG insist they won’t sell him.

Tuttosport: The Leao pot – Bayern Munich prepare money for Milan star

With Rafael Leao, there are always going to be clubs interested in him; that much is a given. However, AC Milan are standing strong.

The interest of Bayern Munich is only the latest in a long list of suitors. Knowing the Portuguese winger, it will also not be the last suitor to ever come forward. On each occasion so far, though, the answer has been the same. No.

So far, this is the same with Bayern, who remain interested, due to whispers of unhappiness in the Portuguese camp. In fact, they are even putting money aside for him.

    Leao money

Massimiliano Allegri wants Leao at the centre of his project, this much has been reported for as long as the Italian has been rumoured. So, there is no rush to get rid of him. In fact, the club continue to state to him, and everyone else for that matter, that he is unsellable.

For the Bavarian outfit, though, there is hope and Tuttosport (via Milan News) writes that the club have created a Leao pot, putting €60 million aside for him. However, this is nowhere near enough. At least €80m will be required for talks to even start, and there is no interest in counterparts.

GdS: Milan learn price tag for Doué – Chelsea and Eintracht Frankfurt join the race

AC Milan are looking at Guela Doue for the role of starting right-back, but competition is building to land him this summer.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, the Doué brothers are living a different June: one is in the United States, the other is on the websites of Milan fans. Désiré is playing the Club World Cup with PSG – and the idea of winning it is not far-fetched – while Guéla is a Rossoneri target.

Indeed, the source confirms that he is one of the most appreciated players for the right-back position. Milan, everyone knows, will change a lot in that area of the pitch given the idea is that Emerson Royal will go on loan and Kyle Walker will not stay.

    Enquiry made

Milan have taken information on Doué, who is liked because he is the right age – 22 years old – and has interesting qualities. Doué moved from Rennes to Strasbourg a year ago for €6.5m plus bonuses and today they consider him to be worth around €20m.

Igli Tare of SS Lazio guela doue

There is competition for Milan and it comes from Chelsea and Eintracht Frankfurt in particular. Chelsea, of course, can lead the game in this story: the ownership of the two clubs is the same and the operations between London and Strasbourg have been on a preferential track.

The name that stands out is Andrey Santos, a Brazilian owned by Chelsea who moved to Strasbourg on loan in January 2024. He is a central midfielder but in the last French championship he scored 10 goals. So the Rossoneri, if they really want Doue, might have to hope the Blues don’t.

  • CorSport: Milan keen on Fiorentina man after multiple right-back departures

CorSport: Milan keen on Fiorentina man after multiple right-back departures

Following the departures of three right-backs compared to the start of 2024-25, AC Milan need to reinforce the position and Fiorentina’s Dodo is at the top of the wish list.

Milan started this past season with Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi and Emerson Royal for the right-back role. Alex Jimenez then joined from the Futuro side, while Kyle Walker arrived on loan from Manchester City. Only two of these players are still in the squad, though.

One of them is Jimenez, who isn’t considered a right-back by Max Allegri, leaving just Emerson Royal who is expected to leave. In short, as reported by Corriere dello Sport this morning (see photo below), Milan need to reinforce the right-back position as soon as possible.

Dodo, who currently plays for Fiorentina, has ended up at the top of the wish list after a very solid season for La Viola. The 26-year-old ‘only’ had six assists in 35 league appearances but he consistently performed on a high level (which Milan experienced themselves this past season).

The newspaper didn’t mention any price tag for the Brazilian, but Fiorentina are bound to ask for some money considering his displays. It’s possible that an agreement could be reached at around €20m, while the salary wouldn’t be too high either.

CM: Milan contact Ricci’s entourage as ‘significant hole’ opens in midfield – the latest

It is time for action now. AC Milan have lost two midfielders – of different qualities, yes – but there is a lack of numbers now.

There is a need for Milan to make up ground quickly, which they have done already this summer, to their credit. With Massimiliano Allegri, the club worked quickly to bring him in, and now, they must do the same with other targets.

    Midfield reshaping

Like Allegri, the move for Luka Modric was done swiftly, but he cannot be the only addition. Yunus Musah, according to reports, is on the verge of a move to Napoli, whilst Tijjani Reijnders’ time in Rossoneri is officially now over.

Calciomercato.com reports that a ‘significant hole’ in the team, but more specifically, in midfield, has opened. Massimiliano Allegri continues to ask for Adrien Rabiot, but even then, further additions are probably needed.

So, the club have also contacted the entourage of Samuele Ricci, to ‘keep the interest alive’, after the operation was paused. He is still a strong option for those at Casa Milan, who like his profile. However, it seems that it will only happen if the conditions are nicer.

At present, Torino are seeking a deal in the region of €35 million, a figure which is not too unreasonable, one would imagine. However, Milan consider it too high, and will not pay that much.

  • Some Milan players ‘guilty of abandoning the ship’ after having ‘contributed to sinking it’ – SempreMilan

Some Milan players ‘guilty of abandoning the ship’ after having ‘contributed to sinking it’ – SempreMilan

The AC Milan management will take most of the blame for the 2024-25 season, but some players are hiding from their accountability too.

As MilanNews write, the leadership created a real sporting (and economic) disaster with the management of the contractual situations of Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan is beyond any doubt, and the last season was compromised by poor recruitment.

The discussions for the renewal of Theo have never really got going, while CEO Giorgio Furlani and co. never formalised the verbal agreement reached in February with Maignan, which is believed to have annoyed him.

Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri’s attempts to get the case back on track seem to be futile, with the French national team’s starting goalkeeper already having his head in the Premier League and in London, with Chelsea.

The Blues have not yet come close to matching the Rossoneri’s valuation of the player, but signals from various quarters suggest that the deal will be done at some point. Enzo Maresca’s team has set a very tight deadline due to the Club World Cup, so it won’t take long to know the final outcome.

    V

    Abandoning the ship

Having acknowledged this series of errors by the management, it is equally correct to launch into another type of reflection: the players did not provide a sufficient level of performance for long enough to finish above eighth place.

Playing at Milan this season must certainly have been difficult, but what was seen on the field was often disastrous. MilanNews also recall an incident where Maignan himself responded with ‘arrogance and haughtiness’ to a legitimate question from one of their journalists.

The question was: “Given that even with two different coaches the music doesn’t change and the season is disastrous, what do you need at Milanello?” His reply: “We need people like you who tell us what to do.”

All the alibis and excuses in the world can be found and many are even quite valid, but that the ‘key’ players have betrayed Milan often in times of need cannot go unnoticed. So, as the title says, ‘players are abandoning the ship after having contributed to sinking it’.

  • Bayern Munich offer counterparts for Leao operation in vain amid salary dilemma – SempreMilan

Bayern Munich offer counterparts for Leao operation in vain amid salary dilemma – SempreMilan

Bayern Munich are serious in their pursuit of Rafael Leao, while AC Milan are hesitant to let go of their No.10 this summer. Nevertheless, as highlighted by a report, the situation could always change with a big offer.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo at the bottom), while Leao’s situation remains complicated as always, there are three certainties. First of all, Milan want to keep him, with Igli Tare and Max Allegri convinced that they can make the most of his talent.

Secondly, there is a very hefty €175m release clause in Leao’s contract, and it’s clear that no club will pay that kind of money for the winger. Finally, Bayern Munich have expressed a concrete interest and could change everything with a high offer, having also attracted Leao’s attention.

    Milan keen on keeping Leao

Above all, it will have to be understood what the Milan management considers to be an irrefutable offer. Leao earns €7m per season including bonuses and he would earn even more at Bayern, seeing as much of the big get above €8m per year at the club.

Milan, on the other hand, has no need to sell their No.10. Tijjani Reijnders has confirmed his move to Manchester City, Mike Maignan is one step away from Chelsea and Theo Hernandez has one foot out the door, despite the rejected Al-Hilal approach.

If the problem was initially cash, that is no longer the case thanks to those sales. Leao could thus remain at the club without any problems and this is something that both Allegri and Tare have stressed. They see the winger as a focal point for the project.

The club, on the other hand, has no need to sell. Reijnders is essentially from City, Maignan close to Chelsea, Theo Hernandez has rejected Al Hilal but remains with one foot out of Milanello. If the problem was to cash in, the solution has been found. The challenge with Leao would be different: Allegri and Tare want to keep him to give him new motivation.

    Counterpart solution not without issues

Bayern Munich’s interest is concrete and it’s possible that this could change the situation. It doesn’t depend on the Club World Cup either, with the Germans willing to welcome him in July instead. The bigger question is whether they can get close to Milan’s asking price with a counterpart.

Some key candidates have emerged in that sense: Kim Min-jae, Kingsley Coman, Bryan Zaragoza, Joao Palhinha and Leon Goretzka. These are some very notable names, it goes without saying, but the path to all of them is not downhill.

Min-jae, for example, has a very high salary of around €9m per season and this is far too much for Milan. The same argument can be applied to Coman, Goretzka and Palhinha, with the youngster Zarahoza the only one with a reasonable salary.

In short, even with a counterpart involved, some negotiation skills would be needed to convince the player to l

  • GdS: Theo Informs Milan of Desire to Leave – Price Set with Agent Given Mandate”

GdS: Theo Informs Milan of Desire to Leave – Price Set with Agent Given Mandate”

AC Milan’s dynamic left-back, Theo Hernández, has reportedly informed the club of his desire to leave this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The French international, who has been a vital figure in Milan’s recent successes, now looks set to explore a new chapter in his career, prompting the Rossoneri hierarchy to begin preparing for a potential departure.

Theo, who joined Milan from Real Madrid in 2019, has grown into one of the best full-backs in Europe, known for his blistering pace, attacking flair, and physical dominance. His contributions have been instrumental in Milan’s resurgence in Serie A and their return to the UEFA Champions League spotlight. However, after five seasons in red and black, it appears the 26-year-old feels the time is right for a new challenge.

According to GdS, Hernández has made his intentions clear to the club, and his agent has now been formally mandated to explore options on the market. Milan, understanding the realities of modern football, have not stood in his way. Instead, they have set a valuation believed to be in the region of €60–70 million, a fee that reflects his quality, experience, and importance to the team.

Several top European clubs are already monitoring the situation. Real Madrid, where Theo began his senior career, could be interested in bringing him back as a long-term replacement for Ferland Mendy. Similarly, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have both been linked in recent months, each looking to reinforce their full-back options with a player of Hernández’s caliber.

Milan’s stance is pragmatic. While they would prefer to keep Theo, they are aware of the financial benefits a sale of this magnitude could bring. The funds could be reinvested into multiple areas of the squad, particularly with a new head coach set to arrive and potential rebuild plans underway. Paolo Maldini, who had a key role in signing Theo and nurturing his development, is no longer at the club, and his absence may also be a factor in the player’s decision to move on.

Should the departure materialize, it would be a significant blow to Milan, both on and off the pitch. Theo’s personality, leadership, and attacking influence are hard to replace. However, Milan have shown in the past that they are capable of bouncing back from key exits, as seen with Donnarumma and Kessié.

The coming weeks will be crucial. If a suitable offer arrives and personal terms can be agreed, Theo Hernández could be one of the headline moves of the summer transfer window. For Milan, the challenge will be not only to replace him but also to reaffirm their ambitions as a top European club amid evolving dynamics.

Until then, fans will anxiously await clarity, knowing that the potential exit of one of their most beloved stars could mark the end of an era—and the start of a new one.
