The management of Shooting Stars has expressed sorrow at the alleged hoodlum attack on the Sunshine Stars bus.
The event was deemed depressing by the Oluyole Warriors.
The club said on their X handle, “We are saddened and shocked by the news of the attack on our brothers, the Sunshine Stars, by suspected hoodlums along the Ore-Benin road while traveling to honor Saturday’s NPFL matchday 13 fixture against Bendel Insurance in Benin.”
“The injuries that the team manager and a member of the club’s backroom staff sustained from being shot by the attackers, along with some players and other officials, are the most concerning.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers throughout this terrible ordeal, and we hope the injured authorities heal quickly.
“May God, in his boundless mercy, keep watching over and guiding us on all of our journeys.”
On Sunday, Sunshine Stars are scheduled to play Bendel Insurance.
