In order to allow the River Seine’s water quality to improve in advance of Tuesday’s triathlon race, Paris 2024 organizers are hoping for better weather over the next several days. Due to worries about water safety, Sunday’s practice session had to be canceled due to the heavy rain that has fallen over the past 24 hours. Should things not get better, the swim portion will be eliminated and the competition will switch to a duathlon consisting of both running and cycling. Dan Williams of CGTN chatted with Hayden Wilde of New Zealand regarding the problems facing the triathlon and the potential to change the event to a biathlon.
