Emmanuel Petit believes that two Bayern Munich players who may be seeking a “new challenge” in the Premier League should be acquired by Arsenal.
In the summer, Mikel Arteta expanded his team with the addition of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and David Raya after playing close to Manchester City the previous season.
While Arsenal is only one point behind the league leaders and winners, former France international Petit thinks the team may use some more experience as they try to snap a 20-year league title drought.
With eight and five league winners medals to their credit, respectively, Kimmich and Goretzka have been pillars of the Bayern team that has dominated German football. The two have also won the 2020 Champions League together in addition to numerous German Cups.
Petit, who has played for the team since 2015 and 2018, thinks that Kimmich and Goretkza might be drawn to a new challenge in the Premier League.
“This is a team that needs experience, in my opinion,” Petit said to Compare.Bet.
“I understand that they want to acquire young players who have room to grow, but I believe they need players who have won big games before.”
If I were Arsenal, my top two targets would be Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich.
They are both amazing players with a ton of experience who have spent some time at Bayern and might be looking for a change of pace.
Goretzka is still only 28 years old and has performed at such a high level for so long. Despite the potential hefty price tag, I believe Kimmich would be a terrific addition to Arsenal.
In the summer, there was conjecture regarding Kimmich’s future at Bayern, and he was briefly connected to a potential transfer to Manchester City as Ilkay Gundogan’s replacement.
In the meantime, Manchester United had their eye on Goretzka.
