Michael Owen, a former striker for England, has identified the one team he thinks may recruit Cole Palmer from Chelsea. Palmer had a tremendous debut season at Stamford Bridge, with 11 assists and 22 goals in 33 Premier League appearances. After being put on the shortlist for the Premier League player of the year award, the 22-year-old took home the trophy for young player of the year. Palmer will work under a new manager upon his return to west London, as Enzo Maresca took over as Stamford Bridge’s head coach in lieu of Mauricio Pochettino.
Former Premier League star Owen was asked whether he sees Palmer staying at Chelsea for the foreseeable future and insisted he cannot see him leaving the Blues for the time being.
However, Owen believes that could all change if Manchester City were to make an audacious move to re-sign a player they sold for £42.5m last summer. When asked if he thought Palmer would stay at Chelsea for the foreseeable future, former Premier League player Owen stated he did not see Palmer leaving the Blues at this moment.
