Prior to their match against Brentford the next weekend, Arsenal is concerned about several injuries. Players like Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus haven’t played recently.
After the November international break, Arsenal will finally return to action one week from now in the hopes of pursuing their title challenge. In addition to losing to Newcastle and drawing with Chelsea, their performance in the last few weeks has been inconsistent. They were also eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
Despite those concerns, the Gunners are still in the fight for the top spot, sitting only one point behind Manchester City. Before a hectic stretch of games during the holidays, Mikel Arteta will be trying to get back on the field as soon as possible due to a few injury worries throughout the two-week break.
Having said that, let’s take a look at the most recent injury updates before Arsenal’s match against Brentford on Saturday.
Gabriel Jesus
Gabriel Jesus was excellent against Sevilla in the Champions League, netting a goal and providing an assist but there was an injury worry when he pulled up clutching his hamstring late on in the game. With 10 minutes to spare he was replaced by Eddie Nketiah, leaving him out of action ever since
Despite doubts about his health, the striker has been called up to the Brazil national team. As far as football.london is aware, Jesus should be ready to play for Brentford when the two-week break ends. In addition, Brazil hopes to have Jesus play in Wednesday, November 22 World Cup qualifying match against Argentina.
Damage: Hamstring
“Gabby won’t be fit, with Martin it is still uncertain, and there’s no news yet on the rest,” stated Arteta.
“I spoke with Gabriel, and he didn’t come here without planning,” Brazil’s manager Diniz stated. When I spoke with him, he indicated he was feeling fine and that he was already doing certain things. He also mentioned that we still had two weeks left, with at least 10 days until the first game [against Colombia] and 15 days till the second [against Argentina]. He is in good health, and everything is being done very carefully. We took a new MRI as soon as he got here, and we’re taking extra care of him.
Jorge Silva
During the match against Burnley, Jorginho was the target of multiple bold challenges. He was removed as a precaution so that his lacerations and bruises could be dressed. He did, however, play for Italy in their match against North Macedonia.
Leg injuries

I’m incredibly pleased with the way this guy is competing, teaching, and helping the team in every aspect. I thought he was excellent again today.”
Odegaard Martin
Arteta will be hoping that Odegaard, who has been recovering from an injury, can play again following the international break. Odegaard’s absence from the home Champions League victory against Sevilla and the away loss to Newcastle at St. James’ Park was due to an unrelated matter, despite his chronic hip condition.
Prior to the defeat on Tyneside, the captain of the Gunners was struck by a ball in the face during a training session at London Colney. Odegaard was examined for a concussion prior to the Eddie Howe team’s defeat, but he failed a fitness test. According to concussion guidelines, athletes must take six days off and be symptom-free before they may play again.
Odegaard was put through his paces at London Colney on Tuesday; he is still being evaluated, but football.london knows that he should be back against Brentford.
