Arsenal are exploring a loan move for Al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves during the January transfer window.
Barcelona sign Gabriel Moscardo ahead of Chelsea
The Gunners are currently without Thomas Partey due to a thigh injury and he is not expected to return until the new year.
Partey and Mohamed Elneny will then be able to participate with their countries in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
That would leave Jorginho and Declan Rice as the only specialist midfielders and Arsenal are keen to move. TalkSPORT claim the Gunners are looking to sign Neves, who has been on their radar for some time.
Neves was linked with a number of high-profile teams earlier this summer before joining Al-Hilal from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Portuguese has not ruled out a return to the Premier League and Arsenal hope to sign him on a temporary deal in January.
Newcastle also want to sign him, but could be prevented by a new Premier League rule.
The Premier League is ready to avoid loan agreements between clubs in the same unit. Newcastle and Al-Hilal belong to PIF.
