The fullback is doing training almost the same as any other player
There’s good news for Alejandro Balde and FC Barcelona, because it seems he is almost fully recovered from the long-term injury he suffered. Balde has been out since January due to an injury suffered away to Athletic Bilbao.
He was seen in the latest training session doing exercises with the ball, one of the final steps before being declared fully fit and ready. While he is not at 100% yet, this is good news as Hansi Flick will want him back to getting to his best form.
Balde was projected as a starter last season but the injury changed everything as João Cancelo took over the left-back spot. Cancelo is uncertain to return this season as he is on loan and his parent club, Manchester City, are reportedly unwilling to loan him again. That means Flick will want Balde ready as soon as possible to bolster the team’s fullback options.
Barcelona will also have Álex Valle and Julián Araujo, who have just returned from loan, as fullback options.
