Lucas Bergvall seems to have made an immediate impression on the Tottenham Hotspur staff during preseason. The 18-year-old is described as “unbelievable” in a club training video.
Tottenham supporters are ecstatic at the possibility of seeing Lucas Bergvall play for the team starting in the upcoming campaign. Naturally, Spurs signed Bergvall before Barcelona did, and the Swede turned out to be one of several young players who trusted Ange Postecoglou and his staff.
Although the teenager’s transfer has been planned for some months, Tottenham supporters saw the young player for the first time this week when many players arrived at Hotspur Way to begin the preseason.
In an effort to capitalize on an encouraging first year under Postecoglou, Tottenham also included players like Timo Werner and Archie Gray. However, Bergvall is the young player that Spurs fans are most enthusiastic about, and it appears that he is starting to leave an effect on the coaches.
Lucas Bergvall appears to impress at start of Tottenham’s pre-season training
Tottenham posted a video on their club channels with some of the clips from the first day back, and in one of the tests, it appears that Bergvall is being told by one of the staff, ‘but, unbelievable that you can do that’.

Of course, it appears to be a session where players are simply establishing what condition they are returning to pre-season in, so it seems unlikely that the coaches would be going too hard on the squad just yet. But it surely suggests that Bergvall is, at the very least, looking to be raring to go at the start of the summer.
Given that he is arriving from Sweden, there is a question mark over how quickly he will adapt to life in the Premier League, particularly when you consider how thorough Postecoglou appears to be in what he wants from his squad.
It remains to be seen if he can hit the ground running in North London, but it is definitely encouraging that he is impressing at the very start of pre-season.
