Former player Dwight Yorke has blasted the Red Devils for passing on the chance to sign Kieran Tierney of Arsenal.
During the summer transfer window, Man United signed players including Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Sofyan Amrabat.
Erik ten Hag’s team has had a mixed start to the current Premier League season and has already lost to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal despite the new additions.
But according to Yorke, Tierney, who left Arsenal to sign a loan with Real Sociedad in the last week of the summer transfer window, ought to have joined Man United.
Yorke told Genting Casino, “I’m not really happy with Man United’s transfer window business.”
“When you consider Man United’s current roster, you’ll see that we have signed players that won’t particularly excite fans. Despite his injury concerns, Kieran Tierney has a lot of energy, therefore I believe we missed the mark with him.
“We’ve finally added a classic striker, but the manager needs to make the most of the players he has, in my opinion. I’m assuming he’s content with the squad, and we’ll see what develops.
