After a crazy Week 11 on the gridiron, Alabama saw themselves slightly rise while Georgia took a hard fall in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.
The Alabama Crimson Tide, who are 7-2 in the first season under head coach Kalen DeBoer, are coming off a lopsided 42-13 win over their conference rivals LSU that saw quarterback Jalen Milroe lead the team on the ground with 12 carries for 185 yards and 4 touchdowns to go alongside his 12-of-18 for 109 yards passing.
Alabama slotted in at No. 10 in the second CFP rankings of the 2024 season, rising up one spot from their initial No. 11 ranking.
The Georgia Bulldogs fell nine spots from No. 3 to No. 12 in the new rankings following their 28-10 upset loss on the road in Oxford to Ole Miss to drop to 7-2 on the year.
The Oregon Ducks sit atop the newest playoff rankings followed by Ohio State at No. 2 and Texas at No. 3.
Nine SEC sides in total are in the latest rankings, with Tennessee (No. 7), Ole Miss (No. 11), Texas A&M (No. 15), South Carolina (No. 21), LSU (No. 22), and Missouri (No. 23) joining the Tide, Dawgs and Longhorns.
The Tide will be back at home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff against FCS-side Mercer, while Georgia gets set for a primetime rivalry clash at 7:30 p.m. in Athens against Tennessee.
