Manchester City will shockingly sell their star forward to finance a £120 million transaction. Guardiola, a Premier League striker, adores
According to reports, Manchester City is thinking about selling Julian Alvarez to Real Madrid this summer to help pay for Pep Guardiola’s top transfer priority.
Manchester City are allegedly considering selling Julian Alvarez to Real Madrid this summer in order to fund a move for Pep Guardiola’s top transfer target.
With Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Alvarez, and Jermey Doku the only acknowledged forwards at Manchester City at the moment, the manager has been considering attacking possibilities to add to the side.
According to reports, Guardiola has picked a Premier League striker as his priority objective. He may have to sell Alvarez in order to close the purchase.
According to our pals at TEAMtalk, Real Madrid is interested in the Argentina international. Carlo Ancelotti is looking to add another excellent striker to his side following the loss of Karim Benzema, and he is a big fan of Alvarez.
With that in mind, a move for Alvarez seems more likely. According to the Spanish newspaper SPORT, Real Madrid wants to sign Alvarez ‘within the next year.’
Despite winning the Premier League treble with Manchester City last season, Alvarez is reported to be eager to move to the Bernabeu in exchange for more consistent playing time.
Last season, the World Cup winner appeared in just 13 Premier League games for City. Alvarez, on the other hand, has started all four of their games this season, scoring two goals and assisting on one.
Alvarez is believed to be anxious that his playing time would be reduced again, thus a ‘lucrative offer’ from Real Madrid may tempt him.
If Alvarez leaves, Manchester City may want to sign Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson.
Guardiola, as previously said, is a tremendous supporter of the 18-year-old. He has had an excellent start to the season, scoring four goals in four Premier League matches, following only Haaland (6) in scoring.
Ferguson, on the other hand, would not be a cheap addition. According to Sky Sports, Brighton will only accept offers in the area of £120 million for the Ireland international, demonstrating how highly Roberto de Zerbi regards him.
Regardless, Guardiola may end up selling Alvarez to Real Madrid in order to raise finances to get Ferguson, who is already at the top of his transfer wishlist.
Ferguson is thus a player Man City fans should keep an eye on when the transfer window reopens in January.
