Arsenal legend names the one invincible team capable of defeating Man City’s treble-winning squad.
Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has backed the Invincible over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side when asked who would win a head-to-head clash between the two
Ray Parlour, an Arsenal great, has suggested that the famed 2003/04 Invincible team would beat the current Manchester City club in a one-off match.
The Gunners stayed undefeated in the Premier League for the whole season, ending with 90 points after winning 26 games and drawing 12. Meanwhile, Manchester City achieved the treble last season, winning the league, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League.
However, Parlour has stated that he would prefer Arsene Wenger’s (Invincible team) to defeat the Citizens in a head-to-head match. Parlour told Lord Ping: Red Or Black?, “I’d have to say (Kevin) De Bruyne would make our team.”
“Just ask (Erling) Haaland! When he’s on the ball, you know something’s going to happen!” We had Dennis Bergkamp, who was comparable, but De Bruyne could be given a free role in the side and fantastic things would happen.
“Haaland would be another option, but we already had Thierry Henry.” Pep Guardiola would have been a fan of (Patrick) Viera. He was extremely essential. Otherwise, Sol Campbell. He’d bolster any back four.
“It’s difficult to predict how a game between them might play out. I believe we’d give City a game and then steal it.
