It was a rough Saturday for Florida Gator fans everywhere after Texas A&M walked into their house with their backup quarterback and won 33-20.
The Aggies got off to a quick 10-0 nothing lead, and then the game went into a delay due to weather. Florida fans were probably hoping that Gator head coach Billy Napier would get fired during the delay and not return back to the sidelines for the second half.

Unfortunately, Gator fans didn’t get their wish because Napier didn’t get fired, but after how his team performed on Saturday, it will be a matter of if and not when Napier gets fired.
Napier was on the hot seat to start the season after finishing his first two years with the Gators with a record below .500, and after how bad the team did Week One at home against Miami, the 45-year-old head coach’s seat got even warmer.
After the loss to Texas A&M on Saturday, it looks like Napier will soon be out of a job, and it could happen if they lose to Mississippi State this weekend, who just lost to Toldeo.

Florida has a bye week after the game against Mississippi State, so a change could be made there, but if they keep him through the bye, he will probably get fired during the stretch where Florida has to play Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, and LSU.
Napier was never the right man for the job, and Gator fans probably wish they would’ve kept Dan Mullen, who had one losing season in four years with the program.
Florida could be the best job open this offseason, and one name that keeps coming up is Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, who could take the job.

Kiffin has turned Ole Miss into one of the best teams in the county and he would be able to do so much more at Florida with better NIL.
It stinks that Napier will be losing his job soon because you never want to see someone get fired, but it just didn’t work out in a place that needs to get back to winning as they did under Urban Meyer in the mid-2000s.
