Declan Rice impressed with his £105m move to Arsenal in the summer

Rice has impressed since joining Arteta’s side, but Petit believes the 24-year-old should only be played as a defensive midfielder and not in a more advanced position to fill the void left by Granit Xhaka.
– Declan Rice’s priority for Arsenal should be to keep the balance of the half and win the ball back for his team. He does those things so well, Petit said Compare.Bet. Metro’s most popular stories
“I think he is a bit lost in the No.8 role that Xhaka played last season because he is such a brilliant holding midfielder.
“You can’t ask him to play like Xhaka did last year because that’s not his position.
“His best position is as a holding midfielder and that’s where the manager should play him. It’s important how Arteta wants to play.”
Leandro Trossard of Arsenal
Emmanuel Petit says Leandro Trossardi should now be Arsenal’s first-choice striker
Petit also believes Leandro Trossardi, who has scored in his last two games, should now be considered Arsenal’s first-choice striker following Gabriel Jesus’ injury.
“Even going back to his Brighton days, I enjoyed watching Leandro Trossardi,” said Petit.
– He is such an intelligent footballer and so technically good. His movement is absolutely extraordinary and he just has such a good feel for the game. He can create chances and score goals and you can see he has an elite mentality. He became a very important player for Arteta.
– The best players always have to play and part of that is both availability and form. Jesus spends too much time hurting. He can play well for a few weeks and then get hurt, and that has happened for years.
– Trossard is always available and very rarely plays badly. For me, he should be Arsenal’s first choice striker.
