The game started all over Arsenal, dominating the ball and controlling the game from the start. The game looked very open and Arsenal wanted to take advantage and it was unfortunate not to go ahead in the first minute. Arsenal still had chances, but we didn’t look clinical enough in the first 20 minutes. But just before the half-hour mark, Jorginho spotted the space Saka had to run into and delivered a perfect pass from the spot on which Saka ran, beat a Sevilla defender and then moved the ball into the middle of the pitch. Leandro Trossard waited to bury the ball past the Sevilla keeper and give Arsenal a deserved 1-0 lead with a well-struck goal.
The goal seemed to give Arsenal confidence going forward and from that moment they looked to be in complete control of the game, locking down the midfield and maintaining a solid structure that Sevilla could not break away from. 1-0 at half-time and firmly in the driver’s seat in the second half.
The second half started much like the first with Arsenal dominating play and possession and looking the better team. Sevilla tried to lock down their defensive structure, but Arsenal looked too good and too quick to catch it.
It didn’t take too long for Arsenal to extend their lead and in the 64th minute Martinelli made the most of Zinchenko’s cross, spotting Saka’s running feet and feeding him the ball and he wanted to beat a Sevilla defender. pace and then cut back into the box and got the ball to his desired left foot and buried the ball into the bottom left corner of the net, leaving the Sevilla keeper with a chance to save, giving Arsenal a 2-0 lead and a good one. really in the driver’s seat. The rest of the game was not very eventful, we both had our chances, but Arsenal held firm to prevent Sevilla from coming back. In overtime, Saka was forced to stop for another hit and engaged in a host of challenges and aggression throughout the game. Arsenal fans hope it’ nothing major, but it didn’t look good.
All in all a great win for Arteta and Arsenal and we are comfortably in the group with 2 games to play, in prime form to reach the last 16.
Did you enjoy watching it as much as I did, Gooners?
