Hull City Hold Talks With Nottingham Forest Over Dilane Bakwa Loan Move
Hull City have reportedly opened talks with Nottingham Forest over a potential loan deal for winger Dilane Bakwa as the Championship club look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
According to transfer reporter Ben Jacobs, Hull have held discussions with Forest regarding a temporary move for the French winger. The Tigers are understood to be exploring the possibility of bringing Bakwa to the MKM Stadium on loan as they prepare for another campaign.
Bakwa joined Nottingham Forest from Strasbourg in September 2025 in a deal worth around £30 million. The 23-year-old signed a long-term contract with Forest and was viewed as a player with significant potential.
However, competition for places at Forest has made regular first-team opportunities difficult to secure. Bakwa made a limited number of appearances during his first season at the City Ground, with his lack of consistent game time potentially making a loan move an attractive option for both the player and the club.
A temporary switch to Hull could provide Bakwa with the opportunity to play regularly and regain momentum. The winger is capable of operating on either flank and is known for his pace, direct running and ability to take on defenders.
Forest may also see a loan spell as a way of allowing Bakwa to develop through regular competitive football rather than remaining on the fringes of the first-team squad. Recent reports indicate that the player is among those Forest could make available for a temporary move this summer.
For Hull, securing a player of Bakwa’s calibre would represent an ambitious move. His experience in French football and at Premier League level could add quality and creativity to the Tigers’ attack, while his versatility would give the coaching staff another option in wide areas.
There is currently no indication that an agreement has been reached, and negotiations are understood to be at the discussion stage. The structure of any potential deal, including whether it would contain an option or obligation to buy, remains unclear.
With the transfer window moving towards its final stages, Hull will be hoping talks can progress quickly if they are to bring Bakwa to East Yorkshire.
For now, the French winger’s future remains uncertain, but a move to Hull could offer all parties an opportunity: Forest could continue the development of a major investment, Bakwa could secure regular first-team football, and Hull could add a talented attacking player to their squad.
