The Florida Gators had four official visitors on campus two weeks ago when they hosted Kentucky in the Swamp.
Cincinnati offensive line commit Jahari Medlock (6-6, 278 Riverdale, GA. Charles Drew) was one of those on campus and he enjoyed the entire weekend in Gainesville.
“The visit went great,” Medlock said of his visit to Florida for the Kentucky game. “They showed me all around the campus and the facilities. We went out to see the game which we all loved and then we left for dinner at halftime, we had hibachi, and it was a great experience. We made it back for the rest of the game and then I went out with the players.”
Medlock had the chance to spend a lot of time with the coaches, but he was mainly around offensive line coach John Decoster.
“On Sunday I had a few meetings with the coaches, and I took pictures in their uniforms,” he said, talking with the coaches. “I spent most of my time with Coach Decoster.”
Decoster and the rest of the coaches made sure to explain to Medlock that he was needed in Gainesville and would fit in to what the staff is building.
“The message I got from the coaches is that they love how I play,” Medlock said of the message from the coaches. “They love my work ethic, and I would be a great asset to the program. They said they see me fitting as a great left tackle that has a very unique and strong mindset.”
This was the first time for Medlock to visit Gainesville and he says the Gators helped themselves during the weekend.
“They raised their chances great with me and they stand very high for me,” he said on where Florida stands for him now. “They have a great program and tons of things to create the players better lives after they graduate.”
Right now Florida is the biggest competition for Cincinnati as Medlock looks to finish his senior year strong.
“At the moment I don’t have any other schools scheduled to visit,” Medlock said. “ I don’t have an exact date for my final decision yet.”
