AC Milan ready to step up interest in Nicolas Jackson

AC Milan could step up their interest in Nicolas Jackson, with Massimiliano Allegri keen to add a reliable attacker to the mix.

According to Fichajes, AC Milan are in the mix for Nicolas Jackson and ready to step up their interest in the striker. Chelsea would be open to selling the Senegalese star if an offer close to €60 million were to arrive, as Massimiliano Allegri eyes a reliable presence in his attacking setup.

AC Milan are in the market for a new striker and have been scouring the market for one over the past few weeks. New boss Massimiliano Allegri likes to play with two strikers in his frontline, and hence there’s a need for a reliable presence in the final third.

AC Milan have been interested in Rasmus Hojlund, but the delays in getting a deal in place with Manchester United continue to cast doubts on whether the striker will indeed move away. Moreover, the Dane has been linked with Napoili after a serious injury to Romelu Lukaku, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Hence, they might be looking to pivot to another name while continuing to try for Hojlund. Chelsea man Nicolas Jackson is the latest name mentioned as a potential option, with Milan now stepping up their interest in the Senegalese international.

Jackson has a longer-term contract in place at Stamford Bridge, which lessens the pressure on Chelsea to make a quick sale. However, the Blues would be open to offers close to €60 million for the striker, as they are also looking to bring in new faces like Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho once they can sell stars like Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.

AC Milan faces Nicolas Jackson competition

AC Milan might still have the attractiveness for top players to join the club, but they will face top competition from English sides for Jackson, especially from those playing European football. Aston Villa are being heavily linked with the striker, and so are Newcastle United, with both teams playing continental football next season.

Newcastle United are a big contender for Jackson, and have been making plenty of headway in the chase for the €60 million-rated Chelsea attacker. For now, the Blues will consider a sale of the striker at their price, which might cast doubts on Milan’s ability to pay what’s necessary.
