Ipswich Town supporters group calls for cheaper tickets at Portman Road

An Ipswich Town supporters group, which formed to raise the atmosphere inside Portman Road, has said that the club needs to review its matchday ticket pricing structure.

Blue Action has released an “overdue” statement calling for the club to look at the ticket prices for both home and away fans.

In the statement, they said: “Ticket prices throughout the Championship have reached excessive levels, however, pointing towards other club prices doesn’t justify our own – we should be leading by example, rather than joining the race to the bottom.

“Ipswich Town prides itself on being a community club, yet charging up to £43 for home fans, and £38 for away fans, for second-tier football is unreasonable, and excludes many ordinary people in our community.”

The group did say that the current season ticket prices are “very fair”, as well as the prices for children’s tickets.
