The top-ranked RB delivers bad news to Georgia football.

One of the top recruits in the country will no longer be visiting Georgia.

Today marks Georgia football’s final home game of the season against Georgia

Tech, giving Kirby Smart one last chance to host recruits for a game this year. While many players are still set to visit for the big matchup, one five-star running back has decided not to visit Georgia after all.

5-star RB Savion Hiter
Savion Hiter, a five-star running back, is among the top recruits in the 2026 class. According to 247Sports, he is ranked No. 14 overall in the country, as well as the top running back and the No. 1 recruit from Virginia.

Hiter had originally planned to attend Georgia’s game against Georgia Tech, but DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell reports that this visit is no longer happening.

While this news isn’t ideal for Georgia, as they’d love to host Hiter, it’s not a major setback either.

First, Hiter isn’t visiting another school instead, so it’s not as though he’s choosing a different program over Georgia. He also visited Athens just last weekend when Georgia defeated UMass, and according to Hiter, he had a great time during that visit.

Additionally, Hiter is part of the 2026 class, so his recruitment still has over a year to go. Although he won’t be visiting for the Georgia Tech game, he is clearly a fan of Georgia and will likely make more visits as his recruitment continues.

Hopefully, Smart can make the most of these visits, as Hiter would be a major addition to Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class.
