Jean-Matteo Bahoya Rejects Hull City Move Despite Eintracht Frankfurt Accepting Bid Amid Milan and Roma Interest

Jean-Matteo Bahoya has reportedly turned down the opportunity to join Hull City despite Eintracht Frankfurt being prepared to accept a proposal for the young French attacker, with renewed speculation linking him with interest from Italian giants AC Milan and AS Roma.

The development has added an unexpected twist to Bahoya’s transfer situation, with Hull City believed to have made significant progress in their efforts to secure his signature. However, the player’s decision appears to have prevented the move from reaching its final stage.

Bahoya, who joined Frankfurt with a growing reputation as one of France’s promising young attacking talents, has attracted attention because of his technical ability, pace and versatility in the final third. His ability to operate in wide areas while also contributing centrally has made him an attractive option for clubs looking to invest in young attacking players.

Hull City’s interest represented an opportunity for Bahoya to potentially take on a more prominent role and gain regular first-team football. The Championship club’s willingness to pursue the deal suggested that they viewed the 20-year-old as a player capable of making a significant impact.

Despite Frankfurt reportedly accepting Hull’s offer, however, Bahoya is understood to have decided against the move. His refusal has immediately raised questions about his preferred destination and what may have influenced the decision.

One possible factor is the reported interest coming from Serie A. AC Milan and AS Roma have both been mentioned in connection with the player, although the extent of their interest and whether either club has made a formal proposal remains unclear.

For Bahoya, the prospect of joining a major Italian club could understandably represent an attractive alternative. Both Milan and Roma possess considerable European pedigree and regularly compete for players with long-term potential. A move to either club could therefore offer a different pathway for his development.

At this stage, it is important to distinguish between reported interest and a completed transfer. While the names of Milan and Roma have emerged in connection with Bahoya, there is no guarantee that either club will make a concrete offer before the transfer window closes.

Frankfurt will now have an important decision to make regarding the player’s immediate future. Having apparently reached an agreement with Hull City, the German club could be disappointed that the proposed transfer has not progressed because of the player’s decision.

The situation could also leave Frankfurt considering whether Bahoya should remain with the club for the time being. Keeping him would allow the Bundesliga side to continue developing a player who still has considerable room for growth, while also giving Bahoya an opportunity to compete for more opportunities within the squad.

Alternatively, another club could enter the race if the player’s decision to reject Hull City encourages further interest. Transfer situations can change rapidly during the final stages of a window, particularly when a young player with significant potential becomes available.

For Hull City, the development represents a setback after the club had apparently gone as far as securing Frankfurt’s acceptance of their bid. However, the situation also underlines the difficulty involved in completing transfers when a player’s personal decision remains a crucial part of the process.

Bahoya’s next move will therefore be one to watch closely. His rejection of Hull City suggests that the player and his representatives may have a different vision for the next stage of his career.

Whether that eventually leads to Milan, Roma, another European club or a continued stay at Frankfurt remains to be seen. What is clear is that the reported agreement between Hull City and Frankfurt was not enough to guarantee a completed transfer.

With the transfer window approaching its decisive stages, Bahoya’s situation could develop quickly. For now, the young forward appears to have chosen to wait rather than commit to Hull City, leaving the door open for other opportunities to emerge.

If the reported interest from Milan and Roma develops into formal proposals, Bahoya could soon find himself at the centre of a much wider transfer battle. Until then, his immediate future remains unresolved, with Frankfurt, Hull City and the interested Italian clubs potentially facing further developments in the days ahead.
