Leeds United Play Hardball as La Liga Outfit Push to Sign Attacking Star
Leeds United are reportedly standing firm over their valuation of Largie Ramazani as Valencia continue to explore the possibility of bringing the winger back to Spain on a permanent basis. The La Liga club are keen to strengthen their attacking options, while Leeds are determined to ensure they receive a suitable fee before allowing the Belgian forward to leave Elland Road.
Ramazani spent the previous campaign on loan at Valencia after joining Leeds in 2024. His move to Spain gave him an opportunity to return to a league he already knew, and he reportedly settled well at the Mestalla. His performances during the latter stages of the season also made him an attractive option for Valencia, who are now considering whether they can negotiate another deal for the 24-year-old.
However, Leeds do not appear willing to make things easy. According to reports, the Whites would prefer a permanent transfer rather than another loan arrangement. The club are believed to be seeking a respectable fee for the attacker, particularly because Ramazani remains under contract and could still have value in the transfer market.
The situation presents an interesting dilemma for both clubs. Valencia know exactly what Ramazani can offer after watching him perform in their system, while Leeds have to decide whether holding out for a better financial package is more important than quickly finding a solution for a player who appears to be outside Daniel Farke’s immediate plans.
Ramazani joined Leeds after an impressive spell at Almería and quickly demonstrated his ability to operate effectively in wide attacking positions. During his first campaign at Elland Road, he scored seven goals in all competitions as Leeds secured promotion to the Premier League. His brace against Bristol City was one of the memorable moments of that promotion-winning season.
His subsequent loan move to Valencia suggested that regular first-team football in Spain could be beneficial to his development. The Spanish club also saw enough of him to consider making his stay permanent. Reports indicate that Valencia particularly value the depth and attacking quality he could provide as they prepare for another demanding La Liga campaign.
For Leeds, though, the priority is to protect the club’s financial interests. The Whites have been active in reshaping their squad during the summer, bringing in significant reinforcements as they prepare for another Premier League season. Their recruitment has included Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and club-record goalkeeper James Trafford, demonstrating the ambition behind their plans.
That spending means outgoing transfers are also important. Leeds need to manage their squad carefully, particularly with several players competing for limited places. Selling Ramazani could provide additional funds and help reduce the number of fringe options available to Farke.
At the same time, the club must avoid selling too cheaply. Ramazani has demonstrated that he can perform at a good level, and Valencia’s interest provides Leeds with leverage during negotiations. If the Spanish side genuinely wants the winger, Leeds can afford to wait for an offer that reflects their valuation rather than accepting an unfavourable proposal.
The player’s own preference could also become significant. Having experienced life at Valencia, Ramazani may be attracted by the prospect of remaining in Spain, especially if he believes regular football is more likely there. That could place pressure on both clubs to find common ground before the transfer window closes.
For now, Leeds appear prepared to play hardball. Valencia’s interest is clear, but the financial gap between what the Spanish club can afford and what Leeds want could determine whether a permanent transfer becomes possible.
With the new Premier League season approaching, Ramazani’s future is likely to become clearer soon. If Valencia increase their offer, Leeds could ultimately sanction the move. If they refuse to meet the Whites’ valuation, however, the winger may have to consider his next option.
