Ipswich Town defender Leif Davis is attracting interest from the Premier League
Ipswich Town have reportedly rejected bids for defender Leif Davis this summer.
Mike McGrath of The Telegraph has claimed that Premier League sides have pushed for the left-back, who is ‘on the shortlist of clubs looking at left-backs’ after playing in the top flight last season.
However, the Blues are ‘determined’ to keep him at Portman Road this summer, although more offers are expected. He signed a new contract in October last year, running until the summer of 2028.
Speaking towards the end of last season, Davis admitted that the step-up to the Premier League probably came too soon for him, and that his confidence was knocked as his form dipped in key stages of the 2024/25 campaign.
“I’d say, from a personal perspective, I’ve been a bit disappointed by performances, knowing my quality,” he explained.

“I lost a lot of confidence in games as well. It’s about building that confidence back up, because you’re playing against the best players in the world.
“I think, if I did have another year in the Champ, I would have been a lot more ready for the Prem.
“But like I said, I had to try and grab it with both hands and do the best I could. I don’t think I did do that in the games I played in.”
In his last season at the level, Davis was one of the top performers in the entire division, registering two goals and 18 assists.
With Conor Townsend set to be sidelined for an extended period with an ACL injury, Davis is the only alternative at left-back, although he picked up a knock last week and is a doubt to face Birmingham City tomorrow night.
