Devonte Wyatt injury update is worst-case scenario for Green Bay Packers image
The injury Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt suffered in the Week 13 win over the Detroit Lions is as bad as expected.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Wyatt suffered a fractured ankle that is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season.
“Packers DL Devonte Wyatt, who was carted off in yesterday’s win over the Lions, suffered a fractured ankle, per me and Tom Pelissero,” Rapoport reported. “Wyatt’s season is expected to be over.”
It was immediately clear that Wyatt has sustained a significant injury after he had to be carted off the field.
Now, Green Bay will have to navigate the rest of its campaign without a key defender, as Wyatt was having a strong season before his injury after tallying four sacks and 35 pressures. Wyatt’s Pro Football Focus pass-rush grade of 71.1 ranked 25th among interior defenders.
The good news is, Wyatt, who will also be in the final year of his rookie contract in 2026, should be fully healthy by the time next season rolls around, barring any setbacks.
With Wyatt now on the shelf, the Packers will need more out of Karl Brooks, Nazir Stackhouse and Warren Brinson.
