Billy Napier and the Florida Gators have had a strong run both on the field and on the recruiting trail as of late, both a product of improved play and coaching decisions on Napier’s part.
The Gators coach was asked on Friday about his thoughts on Florida’s recent success with the commitments it has landed and all of the high-profile visits that have taken place. They flipped yet another 4-star player this week in edge Jayden Woods to continue their tear.

“A lot of these kids, we had really good relationships with in the past. Maybe we finished second or whatever the case may be and I think there’s stability and then obviously the performance on the field, the energy amongst our players,” said Napier. “Gator Nation is kind of rallying the troops a little bit.”
Florida is a program with a lot of success and tradition over the years, and it looks that way once more after a rough start to the season. The Gators have made a statement, completely bouncing back with two token wins over LSU and Ole Miss.
“This is a powerful place. When we have momentum, we can be dangerous,” Napier continued. “And I think that it’s critical that we keep that.”

It will be interesting to watch how that continues as Florida looks to keep things rolling in a positive direction on all cylinders. The Gators will play their last regular-season game at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday against the Florida State Seminoles.
