  • Man Utd have made contact to sign £75million lukeba

Man Utd have made contact to sign £75million lukeba

    Old Trafford Night
Manchester United have been in poor form this season, with many of their key players underperforming. However, Lisandro Martínez has stood out as their best player, scoring a goal away at Liverpool and netting the winner against Fulham in the Premier League recently.

Sadly, he has now suffered an ACL injury, ending his season prematurely. Furthermore, the South American defender is likely to miss the first few months of next season as well.

To address this, United brought in Ayden Heaven during the winter window. However, Heaven is a left-footed center-back with no experience at the top level, so he cannot be relied upon to replace Martínez’s influence.

According to German outlet Sport Bild, United are considering the possibility of signing a new left-sided defender and have shown interest in RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba. The player’s agent has been seeking options to help him advance his career, and United have already made initial contact regarding a potential deal.

The 22-year-old recently signed an extension with Leipzig, which includes a hefty £75m release clause. Additionally, Lukeba is attracting interest from Liverpool, Chelsea, and even Real Madrid, who were eyeing him to strengthen their defense last summer.

Lukeba has had a challenging season with injuries, making just 10 league starts and keeping seven clean sheets.

Despite Martínez’s injury, United still have depth at center-back after signing Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro last summer. If they decide to let go of Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans next summer, as both players’ contracts are set to expire, bringing in another center-back could be essential.

That being said, Ruben Amorim’s side is reportedly facing financial issues and has been making staff cutbacks. This raises the question of whether it would be wise to spend £75m on Lukeba under these circumstances.

  • CeeDee Lamb calls out Cowboys’ Micah Parsons nonsense as Eagles win Super Bowl

CeeDee Lamb calls out Cowboys’ Micah Parsons nonsense as Eagles win Super Bowl

For the second time in eight years, the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys have reportedly discussed whether to pay Micah Parsons a premium or trade him for a massive return. Priorities, right?

That report conveniently surfaced hours before Super Bowl 59 started, signaling that Jerry Jones was trying to grab attention on the NFL’s biggest day.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys’ owner, nothing he leaks to the media can overshadow the Eagles’ well-deserved praise this week. They’ve earned every bit of it. With elite players across the board, Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts shutting down their critics, and Howie Roseman solidifying himself as one of the best GMs in NFL history, Philly is in a great spot.

While the Eagles will need to maneuver their salary cap going forward, their core is intact. The Cowboys, on the other hand, will likely keep lamenting their financial situation and refuse to pursue outside talent during the offseason.

They’re already toying with Parsons’ contract. CeeDee Lamb quickly called out the nonsense.

CeeDee Lamb calls out Cowboys over Micah Parsons contract drama Lamb is speaking for all Cowboys fans, who are fed up with the nonsense.

The only reason Parsons’ potential trade has come up is because the Joneses waited until the last year of his rookie contract to start negotiating an extension. From his first days in the league, it was clear Parsons was a cornerstone player for the team.

RELATED: Cowboys’ Kellen Moore decision may backfire in a way Jerry Jones didn’t foresee The Cowboys did the same with Lamb, who didn’t sign until the end of training camp last summer. Dak Prescott’s situation followed suit. Both Lamb and Prescott should’ve been signed during the 2023 offseason. The Joneses’ delay allowed trade rumors to swirl around Lamb and Prescott all summer, despite both players being committed to Dallas.

The Eagles, however, would’ve locked up Parsons two years ago. They extended DeVonta Smith and Landon Dickerson, drafted the year after Lamb in 2021, last offseason. They also signed A.J. Brown, Jordan Mailata, and even kicker Jake Elliott to extensions.

That didn’t stop Philadelphia from making Saquon Barkley one of the highest-paid running backs, signing linebacker Zack Baun, who excelled in the playoffs, or investing over $30 million in safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in free agency.

Meanwhile, in Dallas, the Joneses claimed they couldn’t spend last offseason because they had to pay Prescott and Lamb… who should’ve already been locked up.

The NFL world has seen through the Joneses’ tactics after last offseason, which was supposed to be “all-in.” While it’s satisfying to see Jerry and Stephen face backlash, it’s equally embarrassing that Lamb had to call out the organization over the Parsons situation.

If that doesn’t highlight the vast difference between the Cowboys and Eagles, nothing does.

  • Noni Madueke: My Journey to Chelsea

Noni Madueke: My Journey to Chelsea

From the moment Chukwunonso Madueke, known as Noni, woke up each day, one thing dominated his thoughts: football.

Born to Nigerian parents who moved to England as children, Noni was just four years old when he developed his passion for the game.

“I always had a crazy love for football,” he says.

“I was obsessed. I’d play by myself constantly, running around, kicking the ball against walls, or shooting against the wall in my backyard or on the street.”

“At school, it wasn’t just about fun. I wanted to win. I was the best player at school, but it’s only when you join an academy that you really understand how good you are.”

“My whole family loves football,” he adds. “My dad’s a Man United fan, and my brother supports Chelsea, so there was always a bit of rivalry at home! It was fun.”

Noni grew up in High Barnet, on the outskirts of Greater London. His parents made sure to take him to Nigeria annually to spend time with extended family.

“My parents came to England as kids, went to school here, and met here. They’ve got strong values and good morals. They made sure I grew up with the same mindset,” he says.

“I always loved visiting Nigeria. We’d fly into Lagos, then take a boat to Banana Island or Lekki Phase 1. It was always a great time.”

Back in England, Noni’s football skills were becoming increasingly noticeable. He joined his first grassroots team, King George FC, at the age of eight, and soon enough, his talent was spotted.

“I was playing at a tournament when a Crystal Palace scout named Steve Neal approached my dad,” Noni recalls. “I was like, ‘What’s going on here?!’ He handed me a card, and I just held onto it, looking at it every day. I’d show it to my friends at school.”

“I went to Palace for two weeks, and then I signed.”

Noni’s father drove him across London three times a week for training and to games on Saturdays. The long trips eventually led to him joining Tottenham’s academy at the Under-13 level, much closer to home.

“Palace was one of the best academies in England, and it helped shape my early years,” he says. “Spurs also gave me valuable experience, and those years set me up well for professional football at PSV.”

Before heading to the Netherlands, Noni breezed through his GCSEs, earning several As and A*s.

“Honestly, primary and secondary school were easy for me,” he laughs. “I focused in class, but my mind was always on football.”

“My favorite subject was probably English literature. I loved reading books; I’ve always found reading fascinating since I was young.”

Noni made his England debut in September.

Never one to shy away from new challenges, Noni chose to sign his first professional contract with PSV Eindhoven, despite offers from top English clubs.

“I wanted to play in the first team as soon as possible,” he reflects, six and a half years later. “PSV seemed like the best path for me to do that.”

“Signing the contract felt amazing, but I was still only 16, so I had to spend another year or so in the youth teams. It was all about signing the contract and getting to work to play for the first team.”

“At that age, just playing football every day is a dream. It didn’t matter where I was. My mum came with me for the first couple of years. It wasn’t much of a cultural shock, especially since most people in the Netherlands speak English. The transition was pretty smooth.”

Noni, at 18, was already playing for PSV’s first team.

Off the pitch, Noni settled into life in the Netherlands with ease. However, he faced a challenge in his second season after making his debut for PSV’s first team.

“I’d never had injuries before, so I didn’t really know what that felt like,” he says.

  • Jalen Hurts proved everyone wrong. Now, he’s a Super Bowl Champion

Jalen Hurts proved everyone wrong. Now, he’s a Super Bowl Champion

A lot of critics once doubted Jalen Hurts’ ability to thrive as an NFL quarterback. Fast forward to 2025, and he’s proven them all wrong, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a dominant victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, earning both the championship and Super Bowl MVP honors.

Hurts’ journey to this point has been remarkable. His first glimpse of the spotlight came during Alabama’s 2016 season opener when, as a freshman, he replaced an ineffective Blake Barnett. Despite fumbling on his first snap, Hurts showcased his resilience by scoring four touchdowns and leading Alabama to a 52-6 victory over USC. This early performance was just a glimpse of what was to come. Hurts quickly became a dominant force, winning the SEC Offensive Player of the Year award and leading Alabama to a 26-2 record as the starting quarterback, including two consecutive national championship appearances. In his first title game, he scored a crucial go-ahead touchdown but fell short as Deshaun Watson led Clemson to a game-winning drive.

The following year, Hurts found himself benched in the national championship game against Georgia. Tua Tagovailoa came off the bench to lead Alabama to victory, but Hurts stayed composed and supported his team. His unselfishness in that moment made him a beloved figure in Tuscaloosa. Hurts transferred to Oklahoma for his final season to start, and after a stellar year, he was drafted by the Eagles in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. However, doubts about his future as an NFL quarterback lingered, with some questioning whether he could succeed at the pro level. Even his selection by the Eagles, with Carson Wentz as the starter, was met with criticism and mockery.

Now, Hurts is the one holding the Super Bowl MVP trophy, and Carson Wentz is watching from the sidelines in Kansas City. Hurts’ leadership, poise, and offensive contributions, including 221 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a team-leading 72 rushing yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl, cemented his legacy. He not only silenced his doubters but proved to the world that he could lead the Eagles to the ultimate victory. Hurts’ Super Bowl MVP win marked a historic achievement, making him the first former Crimson Tide player to earn that honor since Joe Namath in Super Bowl III.

The critics who once labeled him a “system QB” or a mere athlete pretending to be a quarterback have been proven wrong. Jalen Hurts is now not just an NFL quarterback—he is a Super Bowl champion.

  • What happened to Marcus Rashford speaks volumes for Man United after Aston Villa debut

What happened to Marcus Rashford speaks volumes for Man United after Aston Villa debut

After nearly 60 days without playing football, Marcus Rashford made his return on Sunday evening, making his debut for Aston Villa in the FA Cup against Tottenham.

Rashford joined Villa on loan for the remainder of the season during the final days of the January transfer window after being excluded from Manchester United’s squad under Ruben Amorim.

His last appearance came in the 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League. Amorim included him in just one more matchday squad before allowing him to leave the club. On Sunday, Rashford was named to the bench by Unai Emery for the FA Cup fourth-round clash against Tottenham, alongside Marco Asensio, who also joined on loan from Real Madrid. With Villa leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers, Rashford replaced Donyell Malen in the 67th minute. Within just a minute, he was greeted by a warm reception from the Villa fans. Playing as a left-winger, Rashford outjumped defender Kevin Danso to head the ball, which was met with cheers from the crowd. The 27-year-old then received even more love from his new fans when he nutmegged Pedro Porro just outside the box.
