Demarcus Riddick is out for blood and the Tide are happy to fuel that fire
Auburn football’s Demarcus Riddick made headlines Monday after his comments on Alabama football, Jalen Milroe, and Ryan Williams went viral. Well, Milroe has now responded.
Monday, Riddick was quoted as saying: “Ryan Williams is Ryan Williams… Yeah he’s electric, all this and that. In my eyes, he ain’t really nobody to me. Ryan Williams is himself. He ain’t no big time player to me. Like I said, ‘Bama, it’s a big rivalry … Every rival team I played, I never lost to. I will not lose to ‘Bama while I’m here. (Jalen Milroe) is a good quarterback, he’s fast. But he’s not faster than me … He will not get out that box this week.”
These comments ignited a storm on Twitter (you couldn’t pay me to call it X), and many had much to say on Riddick, his comments, and what they’ll mean ahead of this week’s Iron Bowl; though, most of all, both sides of the state wanted nothing more than to hear what the Alabama team would have to say.
Jalen Milroe was first to respond, stating “I don’t even know who he is…let him talk.”
Admittedly, Milroe’s comment doesn’t make much sense since Alabama heavily recruited Riddick. He even caught a lot of flack on Twitter after he committed to Auburn. Milroe should know who he is unless he doesn’t particularly care about Alabama’s recruiting.
Whatever the case, Milroe has made it clear that there will be no high road taken by the Tide, especially to the media.
As such, the Iron Bowl, which never disappoints, looks geared up to be one of the most personal yet.
