GdS: Milan finding full-back signings ‘very complicated’ – Strasbourg want €30m for Doue

AC Milan have not had a good last 48 hours when it comes to pursuing defensive targets, with Guela Doue now an uphill battle too.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Archie Brown blow is followed by another worrying development, which is the increasingly difficult pursuit of Guéla Doué. Milan’s full-back market is now ‘very complicated’, and just over a month until the first game of the season in the cup against Bari.

Strasbourg are continuing to ask for a high sum to part with Doué, the brother of PSG star Desiré, and the chances of a move are slim. He’s not out of reach, but he’s certainly still far away from joining the Rossoneri, who offered €15m and were asked for double that.

It’s a difficult gap to bridge, which could lead Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare to focus on Almeria’s Marc Pubill despite Doue’s will. The team have been working in preseason for a week, and even the management are not losing their cool, they need players to give to the new coach.

After the Modric signing and the Ricci deal being finalised, the Rossoneri hoped it would be easier to find a replacement for Theo Hernandez. Instead, Brown has vanished, and now on the right side Doue also seems far away. A turnaround is needed.
