Why Jalen Milroe was apologizing to Alabama wide receivers during LSU game

Jalen Milroe felt he had to apologize to Alabama football’s wide receivers during the LSU game.

The Alabama quarterback ran through the Tigers defense en route to the Tide securing a 42-13 victory. He rushed for 185 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries. His success on the ground limited the opportunity for Alabama’s wide receivers to shine, and he felt he needed to let them know he was still trying to get them to the football.

The Tide’s freshman wide receiver, Ryan Williams expressed his reaction to Milroe’s apology on Tuesday.

“He is a baller,” Williams said. “He is a dog. That’s all I can say. We on the sideline, he like, I’m sorry y’all trying to get, I’m like, bro, look at your stats. We don’t care. We winning. Like, so, you We just proud and happy for him and glad to be a part of his team.”

Alabama will be back in action against Mercer Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Dennis Rodman didn’t respect David Robinson when they were teammates on Spurs: ‘He had…

For two seasons, NBA legends Dennis Rodman and David Robinson were teammates on the San Antonio Spurs. And according to Jack Haley, who played with Rodman and Robinson, Rodman didn’t respect Robinson. “Dennis had a real problem in his respect for David Robinson as a player,” Haley said in Roland Lazenby’s book Blood On the Horns: The Long Strange Ride of Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls. “He had problems with David’s intensity and work ethic in practice.

One thing about Dave: Dave could be the most talented player and athlete in the NBA. … Therefore, he’s not a big practice guy. Not a big work ethic guy. By [January], Dave would have sat out 30 practices. It’s tendinitis. It’s, ‘I’m sore today.’ Whatever it was, Dennis is a practice guy, and it didn’t sit well with Dennis.

That caused a lot of problems… “Dave tried everything … imaginable to bond with Dennis Rodman, to get through with Dennis Rodman to form a friendship. I’m good friends with Dennis and I’m good friends with Dave. Dave would ask me, ‘Why don’t the three of us go to lunch? Why don’t we sit down and try to talk?’ He would try to talk to Dennis about basketball to form a bond. Dennis wouldn’t respond.

Dave is very religious. He felt that part of his quest was to get through to Dennis Rodman on a religious level, to try to turn his life around. That didn’t work out at all.” The Spurs traded Rodman to the Chicago Bulls in 1995 and Robinson was thrilled about the move. The Bulls benefited immensely by adding Rodman, one of the best rebounders in NBA history. Chicago won three straight championships and went 72-10 in 1995-96. Rodman averaged 5.2 points and 15.3 rebounds with the Bulls, who beat the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1996 NBA Finals and the Utah Jazz in the 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals. Rodman won three straight rebounding titles in Chicago.

The Bulls won three NBA titles before acquiring Rodman. However, Rodman said in “The Last Dance” docuseries that Chicago wouldn’t have won three more rings without him. “You got the great Michael Jordan, the great Scottie Pippen, the great Phil Jackson, but if you take me away from this team, do they still win a championship? I don’t think so,” Rodman said in The Last Dance.

“I love Michael Jordan to death. I love Scottie Pippen, all these guys, but they really don’t do the things that I do. I’m the only guy who does all the dirty work, taking abuse from other players. I wanna go out there and get my nose broke. I wanna get cut. Something that’s gonna really just bring out the hurt, the pain. I wanna feel that.”

Troubling stats suggest Matt Rempe’s time with the Rangers may the over

Matt Rempe is a fan favorite in New York and one of the up-and-coming enforcers of the game, but the latest report reveals his time with the team may be over.

Rempe spent his offseason working on his game, training in strength, skating, and overall performance. He did a lot of intense work with former NHL enforcer Georges Laraque to work on his physical play and made some moves to improve his skating, a couple of key areas he hoped would help him make a stronger impact this season. He worked hard, but he still could not get a regular spot on the New York Rangers lineup, losing the spot to such players as Jimmy Vesey and Adam Edstrom. Despite several recalls by the Rangers, he has never managed to nail his position.

As Peter Botte of the New York Post notes: Rempe gained folk-hero status last spring at the Garden with a series of fights and 71 penalty minutes in 17 appearances, but the 6-foot-9 winger has appeared in only three of 10 games this season for the Blueshirts, including a healthy scratch in Friday’s win over the Senators. Since joining the AHL, Rempe has not quite lived up to the expectations he created last season with his feisty, energetic game that won over many fans.

In his first five AHL games this year, he has two penalty minutes, five shots on goal, a -6 plus/minus rating, and a 40.2% expected goals rate. That would suggest so far that he’s had some difficulty establishing a consistent, positive impact on the ice. Rempe said he’d like his game to resemble Adam Lowry’s, with a physical element, strong work ethic, and great two-way play.

He has shown tremendous determination in training so far; the difficult part is transferring that into a consistent on-ice product. As it is presently constituted, it could come down to being more than just a big body if he wants to get back to the NHL. There’s still time for Rempe to right the ship this season, and with his strong work ethic, a midseason improvement could put him back on the Rangers’ radar. After all, who doesn’t love a player who brings a good tilt when it counts?

Rules Analyst Confirms The Steelers Were Nearly Cheated Out Of A Victory Over The…

The Pittsburgh Steelers came away with a narrow victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. It was an anxiety-inducing game to watch for fans, as the Steelers found themselves down two possessions in the second half.

Pittsburgh managed to get the win, but there were a lot of things that did not go their way. They took a gamble by running a fake punt which failed and set the Commanders up with a short field, they had two turnovers, and multiple missed calls from the officials. This was a highly contested battle between two of the best teams during the 2024 season, and it came down to the very last play.

Pittsburgh found the end zone four times, while the Commanders scored three touchdowns and kicked two field goals. One of their field goals has been a major talking point since the game concluded, as it appeared Donte Jackson had a good rush going off of the edge and was in a good position to block the kick. However, Jackson was clearly held, but it was not called. Washington got three points to make it a six-point game at the end of the third quarter. Rules analyst Gene Steratore went on 102.5 WDVE’s Morning Show on Tuesday and confirmed there was a missed call.

“I thought there was one also on the field goal where the edge got kind of a little more than what we would, you don’t really wanna get too ticky tacky on that ’cause there’s always usually a little tiny bit of restriction on the edge, right?” Steratore stated. “But I think when you open a player up that much and see that, that kind of rises to the level of, felt like a little bit of a hold on the edge as well.” It looked like Jackson would have surely blocked the kick had he not been held, which could have completely changed the game.

Zane Gonzalez wound up making the field goal from 41 yards, but had the penalty been called he would have had to attempt the kick from 51 yards. Kickers around the NFL can make that kick, but it isn’t a sure thing, especially when considering that Gonzalez was signed by Washington in the week leading up to the game. This wasn’t the only call that didn’t go Pittsburgh’s way.

Washington was backed up on their own three-yard line on second down with eight yards to go. They decided to pass, and TJ Watt had a good pass rush — nearly getting home on Jayden Daniels. Had he sacked him, it would have been a safety, but Watt was yanked away from the passer by the right tackle. It was a clear holding penalty, but again it wasn’t called. The play should have resulted in a safety no matter what. Had Watt gotten to Daniels, it would have been safety, and the hold occurred in the end zone.

If the flag was thrown, it would have been a safety as well. At this point in the game, Washington had a six-point lead with just over six minutes remaining in the game. Their lead should have been cut to four on this play, and Pittsburgh would have gotten the ball with decent field position after the free kick. Steelers’ TJ Watt Has A History Of Not Getting Calls Watt is one of the best pass-rushers in the league, but he has trouble getting the officials to throw the flag when he is clearly being held. It has been a consistent problem over the last several seasons. Against the Commanders, it was even worse than usual since Pittsburgh would have gotten points from the play and the ball back in what was already a close game. Thankfully the Steelers walked away with a win, or else those two blown calls would be more magnified.
