Transfer News and Rumours Today: Nottingham Forest Want Barcelona Midfielder, Hull City Eye Nine-Goal Striker
The summer transfer window is entering its decisive stages, and clubs across Europe are working quickly to complete their remaining business before the deadline. Among the latest developments, Nottingham Forest have reportedly identified a Barcelona midfielder as a potential addition, while newly promoted Hull City are exploring a move for a nine-goal forward who impressed in Ligue 1 last season.
Nottingham Forest Target Barcelona Midfielder Marc Casado
Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado as manager Oliver Glasner looks to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes.
Casado, 22, is expected to leave Barcelona this summer, with his future having attracted considerable speculation in recent weeks. The midfielder had previously been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but a transfer to another European club now appears increasingly possible.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Forest have registered their interest in Casado and are considering a move that would represent one of the more eye-catching deals of their summer. Barcelona are reportedly looking for at least £28 million for the midfielder.
That valuation could prove attractive to Forest given Casado’s age and experience at one of Europe’s biggest clubs. Despite being relatively young, he has already made 75 appearances for Barcelona, contributing one goal and seven assists.
Casado’s ability to operate in midfield, combined with his technical quality and familiarity with possession-based football, could make him an appealing option for Forest. Manchester United and Arsenal have also previously been credited with an interest in the player, highlighting the level of attention surrounding his situation.
For Barcelona, meanwhile, the potential departure would further reshape a midfield that has already undergone significant changes this summer. The Catalan giants recently completed the high-profile signing of Rodri from Manchester City, adding another major option to Hansi Flick’s midfield.
Hull City Interested in Ilan Kebbal
Hull City are also looking to strengthen before the transfer deadline, despite making a spectacular start to their return to the Premier League.
The Tigers defeated Manchester United 2-0 on Saturday, marking a memorable opening to their first top-flight campaign in nine years. Oli McBurnie played an important role in attack, but Hull are reportedly still determined to add another attacking player.
According to FootMercato, Hull are among the clubs interested in Paris FC forward Ilan Kebbal. The 28-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2025-26 campaign in Ligue 1, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 29 appearances.
Kebbal’s creativity and goal contribution could make him an attractive option for a Hull side preparing for the demands of Premier League football. His experience in France’s top division would also give him valuable exposure to a high-level competitive environment.
However, Hull may face a significant obstacle if they attempt to push through a deal. Paris FC have already indicated that they want to retain Kebbal this summer. Sporting director Marco Neppe recently stated that Kebbal, Moustapha Mbow and Adama Camara would not be leaving the club, underlining Paris FC’s determination to keep the Algeria international.
Other Transfer Developments
Elsewhere, Juventus have reportedly entered the race for Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri. The Brazilian is expected to leave Leeds following the arrival of James Trafford from Manchester City.
Torino had previously been regarded as favourites for Perri and were reportedly discussing a loan deal with a €14 million (£12 million) purchase option for next summer. Juventus have now made an approach as they consider Perri as a potential backup for Guglielmo Vicario.
Perri joined Leeds from Lyon last summer and made 20 appearances during the previous campaign, conceding 33 goals.
With the transfer deadline approaching, Forest, Hull and several other clubs will have little time to turn interest into completed deals. Forest’s pursuit of Casado and Hull’s interest in Kebbal are therefore stories worth monitoring closely as clubs make their final moves of the summer.
