The Iron Bowl always reveals the truth. Even in its less dramatic versions, when Chris Davis doesn’t return a missed field goal for 109 yards or Jalen Milroe doesn’t rescue the game on Fourth and 31 from a deep hole, the annual 60-minute clash manages to uncover what’s real.
That truth surfaced again on Saturday. Alabama 28, Auburn 14 wasn’t a legendary game, and this erratic battle between flashes of brilliance and moments of incompetence—an inner conflict only for the victorious team—likely won’t gain significance with time.
