Today (Monday, December 8), I would like to discuss two differing Leicester City stories with you. And while they may differ, the ultimate ambition of the two respective players is the same: get into and ultimately impact the Foxes first team. It is optimistic to see players returning from injury and aiming to stake a claim. Not to mention succeeding while temporarily elsewhere.
First of all, I will discuss Australia National Team representative Harry Souttar. The towering centre back recently returned to full team training, according to LCFC manager Marti Cifuentes. The Aussie was out for around a year, though he is yet to be included in a matchday squad this season.
Secondly, we will talk about up-and-coming Fox Jayden Joseph. Joseph is a particularly highly rated and versatile King Power youth star, previously shining for the Leicester Development squad. At present, he is on loan at Tranmere Rovers in Birkenhead, Merseyside. What is going on with the 19-year-old, and the 27-year-old respectively? Let’s take a look.
Harry Souttar makes his feelings known to manager Marti Cifuentes
Having another centre back ready when defenders are short in numbers is ideal. Souttar has put his services forward:
“He’s desperate to help the team in this situation. We have been struggling with the centre-halves and the defenders lately. I’m sure he just wants to do well and to be ready as soon as he can.”
Would loan star be under consideration for Leicester City comeback and promotion?
Leicester are lucky to have such a great crop from multiple years of scholars up to the Under-21s level. Jake Evans, Bade Aluko and Jeremy Monga are the first names which come to mind there.
But there are more: Louis Page, for example. In addition to those youthful ballers, Joseph can consider himself a member. He has recently been described as a “gem” whilst playing for Tranmere.
As I say, Joseph’s overall play has been cited as extremely positive with the Super White Army. His ability to attack and defend competently has certainly caught the eye.
The player is used at wing back at present, yet can he deployed in defence, midfield or on the wing. I’m positive Cifuentes would bring him back if another injury transpired:
“Leicester City may have another gem in their ranks with full-back Jayden Joseph “phenomenal” for loan club Tranmere Rovers on Thursday night.”
