Hull City Express Interest in Everton, Fulham and AFC Bournemouth-Linked Keito Nakamura

Hull City have reportedly entered the race for Japanese winger Keito Nakamura, adding another dimension to the growing transfer interest surrounding the Stade Reims forward.

The 26-year-old has emerged as one of the more sought-after attacking players in the French market after an impressive campaign with Reims and a strong showing for Japan at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to recent reports, Hull have now expressed an interest in bringing Nakamura to the club as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.

Nakamura is no stranger to Premier League attention. Everton, Fulham and AFC Bournemouth have all previously been linked with the winger, with reports indicating that Everton and Bournemouth have made enquiries about the conditions required to complete a deal.

The competition for his signature could therefore become increasingly intense as the summer transfer window approaches its final stages.

Nakamura enjoyed an excellent 2025/26 season with Reims, finishing as the club’s leading scorer with 14 league goals. His performances helped establish him as one of the standout attacking players in Ligue 2, despite Reims’ failure to secure promotion back to Ligue 1.

His form also carried over to the World Cup, where he played an important role for Japan. Nakamura scored against the Netherlands, provided an assist against Tunisia and was included in Opta’s team of the group stage. His performances further increased his profile and attracted additional attention from clubs in England.

Reims are understood to have an agreement that could allow Nakamura to leave for a suitable fee, with figures of approximately £21.5 million reported by BBC Sport and other outlets. Some reports have placed the valuation closer to £25 million, meaning any interested club would need to make a significant financial commitment.

For Hull, Nakamura would represent an ambitious addition as the club looks to strengthen its squad for life in the Premier League. His ability to operate from the left side, combined with his goalscoring record and international experience, could provide Hull with an attacking option capable of making an immediate impact.

However, securing his signature will not be straightforward. Everton and Bournemouth have already made enquiries, while Fulham are also monitoring the situation. Previous reports suggested that Everton and Bournemouth may need to move attacking players out before being able to push ahead with a deal for Nakamura.

Nakamura’s own position could also prove significant. Reports indicate that the Japan international is keen on a move to the Premier League after remaining with Reims last season. He is reportedly eager for a new challenge and open to the possibility of playing in England.

Hull’s interest could therefore develop into a fascinating transfer battle. The Tigers may have the opportunity to offer Nakamura an important role from the outset, while Everton, Fulham and Bournemouth can point to their established Premier League status.

With Nakamura reportedly available for a substantial fee and several clubs watching his situation, the coming weeks could determine where the Japanese winger plays his football next season. What began as interest from a handful of Premier League clubs has now developed into a wider transfer race, with Hull City seemingly determined to make their presence felt.
