Hull City Condemn ‘Abhorrent’ Racist Abuse Directed at New Signing Robinio Vaz

 

Hull City have strongly condemned the “abhorrent” racist abuse directed at their new signing Robinio Vaz on social media, insisting that there is no place for discrimination within football or society.

The 19-year-old French striker joined Hull City from Italian giants AS Roma on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day, with the agreement reportedly including an option for the Premier League newcomers to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

 

However, what should have been a positive moment in the teenager’s career was overshadowed by racist comments posted online following Hull’s announcement of his arrival. The club subsequently deleted the original social-media post after it attracted a wave of offensive and discriminatory responses.

 

Hull reacted strongly to the incident, making it clear that the club would not tolerate racism directed at Vaz or anyone associated with the football club.

 

“No individual should ever experience discriminatory abuse, and the club will provide Robinio with our full support,” Hull said in a statement.
