Wigan Warriors delivered a polished and powerful performance, producing the kind of display that reminds everyone why they remain one of the most dangerous sides in rugby league. From the opening whistle, they played with intensity, discipline, and flair, overwhelming their opponents in key moments and showing quality across the park. Several stars stood out, with three players deserving a superb rating of 9 after a memorable afternoon.
Fullback – 8/10
Safe under the high ball and sharp in attack, Wigan’s fullback offered a constant threat whenever space opened up. His support lines were excellent, and he regularly inserted himself into the attacking line to create overloads. Defensively solid, he rarely put a foot wrong and looked calm throughout.
Wingers – 8/10
Both wingers had productive outings, finishing chances well and working hard coming out of defence. One took his try brilliantly in the corner, while the other constantly gained strong metres early in sets. Their energy helped Wigan dominate field position for long periods.
Centres – 9/10 and 8/10
One centre was among the stars of the show and fully merited a 9. He ran devastating lines, broke tackles with ease, and was rewarded with a try after troubling defenders all game. His combination play with the winger outside him was exceptional.
The other centre also impressed with strong carries and dependable defence. He shut down dangerous attacks and gave Wigan balance on the edge.
Stand-off – 9/10
This was a masterclass in game management and creativity. The stand-off controlled the tempo brilliantly, mixing short passes, kicks, and direct running whenever needed. He set up two tries with clever vision and always looked one step ahead. A complete performance and one of Wigan’s best players on the field.
Scrum-half – 8/10
An energetic display from the halfback, whose kicking game repeatedly pinned the opposition deep inside their own half. He linked play well and kept the defensive line guessing with quick movement around the ruck. Not as flashy as his partner, but hugely effective.
Props – 8/10 and 7/10
The starting props laid the platform for victory with relentless carries and aggressive defence. One consistently bent the line backward, while the other got through a mountain of unseen work in the middle. Their efforts gave Wigan control early on.
Hooker – 9/10
The hooker was outstanding and earns the third 9 of the day. His service from dummy-half was crisp, his decision-making excellent, and his running threat caused chaos around the ruck. He scored one try and had a hand in another, punishing tired defenders with smart play.
Second Row – 8/10 and 7/10
Both back-rowers brought edge power and defensive steel. One was especially effective with hard lines close to the try line, while the other made several important tackles to halt momentum swings.
Loose Forward – 8/10
Another tireless performer who linked the middle and edges superbly. His handling skills and work rate helped Wigan maintain fluency throughout the contest.
Bench – 8/10
The substitutes made a real impact when introduced. Fresh legs in the middle kept the intensity high, while the rotation was timed perfectly. There was no drop in quality when changes were made.
This was a sublime all-round team display from Wigan Warriors. Their structure, energy, and attacking sharpness proved too much for the opposition. With three players scoring 9 and many others close behind, it was the kind of performance that sends a warning to the rest of the league.
