ALLEN PARK — Amon-Ra St. Brown made his return in a limited fashion for Tuesday’s walkthrough for the Detroit Lions.

Dan Campbell made it sound like the star wide receiver was trending in the right direction when speaking with reporters on Tuesday. The Lions coach said St. Brown is dealing with knee irritation from the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. But he viewed the updates regarding St. Brown as “positive news.”

Of note, center Graham Glasgow (knee) was upgraded from limited to full participation in the estimated practice report for the walkthrough. The Lions are weighing their options of who to start against the Minnesota Vikings, with Glasgow or Kingsley Eguakun in the mix. Glasgow has missed two games since Thanksgiving due to his knee. Eguakun started for the first time this past weekend, and the Lions found some encouraging returns they might want to explore.

“Yeah, I was encouraged by Kingsley,” Campbell said. “You know, I thought he did a good job. So we’re kind of weighing that right now, too. And then Graham’s dealt with his knee a little bit.

“So, just thinking about it.”

Left tackle Taylor Decker was also upgraded to a limited participant as he continues to deal with his lingering shoulder issues. Decker has been out there for every game since missing two before the bye week.

Veteran defensive back Avonte Maddox (back/illness) was still inactive on Tuesday. And running back David Montgomery was a non-participant due to an illness before heading to Minnesota. Maddox has played 221 snaps over the last three games while filling in at safety.

Montgomery’s role has been reduced even more in recent weeks. He hasn’t had double-digit carries in a game since Week 10. The veteran running back has also been used fewer than 20 snaps in three straight games. That’s happened only one other time this season outside of that three-game stretch.

See below for the list of other players who were estimated as limited at Tuesday’s walkthrough:

iOL Trystan Colon (wrist)

EDGE Marcus Davenport (shoulder)

WR Tom Kennedy (abdomen)

OG Christian Mahogany (fibula)

OT Giovanni Manu (knee)

DL Alim McNeill (abdomen)

EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad

CB Amik Robertson (hand)

Colon and Manu were the only players listed among that group to miss the game against the Steelers. Manu is back at practice and sounds like it will remain that way to end the season. The Lions just want to make sure the second-year offensive tackle is getting reps ahead of a vital offseason for his development.

Robertson played through his hand injury, sporting a club on his left hand for 27 snaps this last Sunday. Mahogany made his return after a six-game absence due to a fibula injury, and it’s not surprising to see him get some time and extra care to manage the issue.
