Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer radar could soon be heating up again as reports from The Boot Room suggest that Juventus are open to selling Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window — and Spurs are among the clubs showing strong interest. The Italian giants are said to be willing to part ways with their frontman for just £20 million, a figure that represents a major drop from the £66 million they paid Fiorentina for him in 2022.
For Tottenham, the potential move is both strategic and symbolic. Since Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich, Spurs have been linked with several forwards but have yet to truly replace their all-time top scorer with a consistent number nine. Ange Postecoglou’s current attacking setup — led by Richarlison, Son Heung-min, and Dejan Kulusevski — has been fluid and exciting, yet the absence of a true out-and-out striker has occasionally shown in games where Spurs struggle to convert dominance into goals.
Vlahovic, 25, is an intriguing option. At his best, he’s a lethal finisher with excellent movement, physical presence, and a knack for scoring under pressure. During his peak seasons at Fiorentina, he was one of Serie A’s most feared strikers, regularly finding the net against top opposition. However, his time at Juventus has been inconsistent. Injuries, tactical shifts, and the team’s struggles under Massimiliano Allegri have limited his impact, leading to frustration on both sides. Now, with Juve eager to balance their books and refresh the squad, a cut-price exit appears inevitable.
For Spurs, £20 million for a player of Vlahovic’s calibre represents an opportunity too good to ignore. Postecoglou’s system demands high-tempo pressing, creativity, and clinical finishing — traits that Vlahovic could develop further under the Australian’s progressive coaching. The Serbian’s powerful left foot and ability to hold up play could also complement Son’s dynamic movement and Maddison’s creativity behind him.
There are, however, potential obstacles. Tottenham’s wage structure and Vlahovic’s current Juventus salary may pose negotiation challenges. Moreover, interest from other European clubs could drive competition for his signature. Arsenal, who previously came close to signing him before his move to Turin, could re-enter the race, as might Atlético Madrid and Chelsea — both of whom have monitored his situation in the past.
Still, the prospect of joining a resurgent Tottenham side under Postecoglou could be appealing for Vlahovic. Spurs have rediscovered their attacking identity this season, playing attractive, front-foot football that’s winning plaudits across Europe. A January arrival could provide the final piece of the puzzle as the club continues its push for a top-four finish and domestic silverware.
If Tottenham can secure the deal at the reported price, it would be a masterstroke — a calculated gamble with potentially huge rewards. A hungry, rejuvenated Vlahovic in North London could be exactly what Spurs need to elevate their ambitions and reassert themselves among the Premier League elite.
For now, all eyes are on January. Juventus are ready to sell. Tottenham are watching closely. And for just £20 million, Dusan Vlahovic might just be the bargain of the window.
