How many times will Ousmane Kromah, the freshman running back, carry the ball against Alabama?

SEMINOLES VS. THE TIDE
We’re now under 24 hours from kickoff as the Florida State Seminoles prepare to face off against Alabama at 3:30 PM EST in the newly upgraded Doak Campbell Stadium. You might want to pack some rain gear, as showers could be part of the forecast.

This game could favor the Seminoles, who will look to emphasize the run game with new offensive play-caller Gus Malzahn at the helm. Florida State brought in new backs this offseason, like former Oklahoma runner Gavin Sawchuk and ex-four-star recruit Ousmane Kromah.

Coach Malzahn has already praised the trio of Ousmane Kromah, Gavin Sawchuk, and Roydell Williams. Some fans may wince seeing Williams mentioned, remembering his costly fumble last year against Memphis.

Still, leaning on a veteran like Williams versus his old squad could be wise. Let’s hope nerves don’t overwhelm him and make him press too much.

OUSMANE’S BIG MOMENT IS COMING
Though I appreciate what the former Alabama back offers, excitement is building for freshman sensation Ousmane Kromah. During Early Signing Day, the Seminoles landed a surprise when Kromah committed to FSU over Georgia and Auburn.

The Georgia product ran for 1,368 yards and 15 scores in his senior high school campaign. I don’t want to overload the young man with expectations, but coaches and teammates have raved about him since summer workouts began.

I’ve even likened the Lee County High School alum to 2017’s Cam Akers. As a true freshman, Akers racked up 1,024 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Kromah is set to debut against Alabama just like Akers did.

In that opener, Akers logged 10 carries for 30 yards and one 11-yard catch. Kromah may see similar usage, competing for snaps with Roydell Williams, Gavin Sawchuk, Kam Davis, Samuel Singleton Jr., Caziah Holmes, and Jaylin Lucas.
