Official: Anis Mehmeti, new Ipswich Town player

English Championship club Ipswich Town has officially announced the transfer of Albanian midfielder Anis Mehmeti from Bristol City.

The Albanian national team representative has changed clubs today (Friday), but not the championship, as he continues to remain part of the English Championship.

“The club is delighted to confirm the signing of Anis Mehmeti from Bristol City. The 25-year-old joins the Blues for an undisclosed fee and has signed a deal until the summer of 2029.”

“A versatile striker, Anisi moves to Portman Road having already scored eight goals and contributed six assists during the first half of the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship season,” the announcement said.

Ipswich Town’s official website has also revealed that once his transfer is complete, Mehmeti will wear the number 33 shirt.

“I am very excited to have signed for the club. Everything the club is trying to achieve matches my ambitions and that speaks for itself. The fans are amazing and I can’t wait to play in front of them,” Mehmeti said after signing.

Otherwise, Ipswich Town currently occupies third place in the Championship standings and is one of the main contenders to climb to the Premier League for the new edition. /Telegraph/
