The Jetsā shuffling of their defensive tackle unit continued on Sunday.
They traded Derrick Nnadi to the Chiefs, The Post confirmed. The Jets are swapping a conditional 2027 seventh-round pick for a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick.
Nnadi spent the first seven years of his career with the Chiefs before signing with the Jets this offseason.
But he became expendable when the Jets added two veteran defensive tackles via trade last week. They acquired Harrison Phillips and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Vikings in exchange for a 2026 sixth-rounder and 2027 sixth-rounder.

Head coach Aaron Glenn had high praise for Phillips after the Jetsā preseason finale against the Eagles on Friday.
āFirst off, heās one of us,ā Glenn said. āHis mentality, the character, and Iām talking about on and off the field. Heās a damn good run stopper. I remember going against him all those years I was in Detroit. Actually, when he was a free agent, he was a guy we tried to target for us to get ready to sign, but obviously he ended signing up back with Minnesota. But everything about him fits who we are, so Iām happy that we got him.ā
And the Jets also added Jowon Briggs and a 2026 seventh-round pick from the Browns last week in exchange for a 2026 sixth-rounder.

The defensive tackle and run-stopping unit had emerged as a weakness through training camp and the first two preseason games, but now looks much different than when the summer started. Nnadi in particular did not show great for himself.
He started 87 games for the Chiefs across his seven seasons, but saw his role largely diminished last year.
