Georgia football trending for another transfer wide receiver

Georgia football has been aggressively recruiting many wide receivers out of the transfer portal since the portal for my opened last month. And while Kirby Smart and his staff did not find much luck initially, they finally earned a commitment from the No. 2 receiver in the portal from USC in Zachariah Branch.

While this put Georgia’s receiver room in a much better spot heading into next season, the Bulldogs still need a lot more help as wide receiver was arguably the worst position group for Georgia this past season. The Bulldogs are bringing in many elite receivers to Athens as part of their 2025 recruiting class, but it’s hard to ever rely on true freshman making a big impact in their first season at the college level.

So that is why Smart has still been targeting receivers in the portal even after Branch committed to Georgia, and it appears those efforts are close to being rewarded.

After recording 39 receptions for 574 yards and eight touchdowns in the 2024 season, it’s easy to see why Texas A&M transfer wide receiver Noah Thomas is ranked among the top players in the portal, ranking No. 10 among wide receivers and No. 31 overall according to 247Sports.

During his one and only trip to Athens over the weekend, Thomas had only expressed interest in Georgia since logging into the site. The official forecasts for Georgia to land Thomas out of the portal were logged by On3’s recruitment experts, Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong, suggesting that the visit went incredibly well. Although it is clear that this recruitment will continue until Thomas formally commits and signs with Georgia, all indications suggest that this will happen soon. Georgia should be really confident about their wide receiver room going into the upcoming season if it does.
