Of all the Wisconsin Badgers football players who decided to enter the transfer portal this offseason, you could make the case that running back Tawee Walker was the most surprising. With the new JUCO rules, he has one more year of eligibility, but he has decided to leave Madison.
It’s a bit of a stunner that he hasn’t signed with a new program yet, but a decision could be coming soon for the veteran back. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Walker is in the process of scheduling official visits to Georgia and Cincinnati. Following those trips, could a decision from Walker be coming soon?

Walker is getting ready to wrap up quite the journey for his college career. After being a JUCO standout, he signed with Oklahoma and spent two seasons with the Sooners. He then signed with the Badgers, spending only the 2024 campaign with the team and head coach Luke Fickell.
Walker impressed at times, rushing for 864 yards and 10 touchdowns. The disappointing thing for him in the fall, though, was that he couldn’t quite get going against ranked/winning teams. That’s not all on Walker, however, as the offensive line sure let him down at times.
Now, Walker is ready for his next stop, while the Badgers will have a new starting running back for the 2025 campaign. Losing Walker stings, but the good news is that Darrion Dupree and Dilin Jones are both ready and hungry to make some noise.
Both Dupree and Jones were 4-star signees from the ’24 recruiting class and their workloads will be increasing. Wisconsin fans are ready to see what the youngsters can do, as they’ll be needed to play beyond their years with Walker no longer being in the plans for the future.
