The Detroit Lions have the best record in the NFC, and the Pro Bowl votes to show it.
Nineteen different Lions rank in the top 10 in Pro Bowl voting at their position, and the Lions lead all NFL teams in total Pro Bowl votes.
From left, Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow (77), offensive tackle Penei Sewell (58), guard Kevin Zeitler (71), and guard Graham Glasgow (60) look on from the visiting team tunnel before taking the field for the first half against Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024.
Frank Ragnow (center), Kevin Zeitler (guard) and Penei Sewell (tackle) have the most Pro Bowl votes among NFC players at their respective positions, rookie Sione Vaki leads all special teams players in votes regardless of conference, and running back Jahmyr Gibbs has the fifth most votes (35,637) or any player.
The Lions, 11-1 heading into Thursday’s game with the Green Bay Packers, had five players selected to the Pro Bowl on the original ballot last season: Sewell, Ragnow, tight end Sam LaPorta, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and special teams player Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
Hutchinson was not eligible to be included on the Pro Ballot this year because he played in fewer than six games before going on injured reserve with a broken leg. Wide receiver Jameson Williams also is ineligible for Pro Bowl selection because he was suspended for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing substances.
Of the 19 Lions who rank among the top 10 at their positions, eight are on offense: Sewell (first among all OTs) Zeitler (first), Ragnow (second), Gibbs (third), tackle Taylor Decker (fifth), guard Graham Glasgow (third), quarterback Jared Goff (sixth) and running back David Montgomery (eighth).
On defense, free safety Kerby Joseph (second), strong safety Brian Branch (third), cornerback Carlton Davis III (seventh), inside linebacker Jack Campbell (10th) and defensive tackle Alim McNeill (ninth) rank among the top 10 at their positions.
On special teams, long snapper Hogan Hatten (second), kicker Jake Bates (fifth) and punter Jack Fox (fifth) are in the top 10.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry lead all players in fan voting, and the Ravens are second in team voting.
Pro Bowl selections are determined by a combination of fan, player and coach voting.
