Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo  Young striker Rodrigo Ribeiro could reportedly get a second opportunity at Nottingham Forest this season.

The 19-year-old spent the second half of last term on loan at the City Ground from Sporting Lisbon but barely had a chance to show what he had to offer. The Reds had the potential to make his move a permanent one but he returned to his parent club at the end of the campaign.

However, reports from Portugal suggest Ribeiro now has “a chance” of linking back up with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side before the summer transfer window closes on August 30. According to sports newspaper A Bola, a return to Forest is a “strong possibility” for the teenager.

The report claims the forward impressed Nuno and the club’s coaching staff during his previous stint Trentside. And it is said a permanent move to England could be on the cards.

Ribeiro struggled for game time in the Garibaldi last season. He managed just five substitute appearances in all competitions, including against Burnley on the final day of the campaign.

He has already had one league run-out for Sporting this time around, having come off the bench in a 3-1 victory over Rio Ave earlier this month. He also played 17 minutes for his club in the Super Cup.

Bolstering Nuno’s attacking resources has been a priority for Forest this summer as they look to push on in the Premier League. Winger Ramon Sosa became the latest new arrival when he put pen to paper on a five-year deal last week, following the additions of Eric da Silva Moreira, Elliot Anderson, Carlos Miguel, Nikola Milenkovic and Jota Silva. Midfielder Marko Stamenic has also been signed this summer but will spend the season on loan at Olympiacos.
