Coventry made a flying start, with Clinton Morrison scoring in the second minute after exchanging passes with Freddie Eastwood and clipping a sweet 25-yard strike in off the far post.
Town rallied and equalised just before half-time when Liam Rosenior’s cross was nodded home by fellow loanee Stern John for his first Town goal.
The Blues started the second half as they had ended the first and took the lead in the 52nd minute with a superb team goal

Owen Garvan found Jon Walters down the right. He crossed for Grant Leadbitter to back-heel into the path of Jack Colback, who tapped home from six yards for his fourth goal of the season.
Town had more than enough opportunities to seal the game with a third goal but didn’t take their chances as in the 95th minute – after Coventry looked to have snatched a last-ditch equaliser, when Carl Baker scooped a cross to the far post and Richard Wood met it to nod home.
Their players celebrated long and hard in front of their own supporters, but the drama wasn’t over at Portman Road.

Straight from the restart, Jaime Peters launch a ball forward to Pablo Counago, who flicked the ball to Walters just outside the area and then returned it to the Spaniard, who kept his nerve and chipped the ball over the advancing Kieran Westwood and to win the game for Town.
Incredible scenes followed as Counago was mobbed by his team-mates, including goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett, who had run the length of the pitch to join in the celebrations.
The whistle went moments later with many fans still celebrating the late winner, while others likely missed it due to leaving earlier. This result was Town’s third home win in a row, which moved them up to 19th in the table.
In the end, Keane’s first full season in charge of the Blues saw them finish 15th in the second tier, 14 points away from the play-offs.
