Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has announced where she will be competing next as she looks to win her fifth individual title at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in September.
The 10-time world champion faces a stern test from some of the strongest women who have come up recently, including defending champion Sha’Carri Richardson, Olympic champion Julien Alfred and two-time world 200m champion Shericka Jackson, among others.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has a point to prove, as the race will be her final time competing at the World Championships, with her goal being to continue positively impacting thousands of people off the track.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will be lining up for the women’s 100m at the Gyulai István Memorial scheduled for August 12.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will also take on Tamari Davis, Tina Clayton, Maia McCoy and Boglárka Takács, with her main focus being on finishing on the podium and hopefully walking away with the win.
“In the next two days, it will be my final time gracing the National Stadium, and it is honestly one of those moments that I’m looking forward to,” Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce revealed just before the Jamaican Championships.
“You know why? Because I have absolutely nothing to lose and all to gain, because it is your love and it’s your support and it’s your encouragement that has kept me.”
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Season So Far
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce started her season at the Velocity Fest #17, winning the heats before heading to the World Athletics Relays.
She was part of the Jamaican women’s 4x100m relay team that finished second in the heats and went on to claim a bronze medal in the final, qualifying for the World Championships later this year.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce then made a comeback to the Diamond League circuit, competing in Doha, Qatar, where she narrowly missed out on the podium following her fourth-place finish.

Fraser-Pryce then competed at the Jamaican Championships and managed to sneak into the World Championships team following her third-place finish in the final, where she clocked 10.91 seconds.
“I’m just grateful to be able to be here tonight finishing healthy and be on the team to Tokyo,” Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce said after qualifying for the World Championships.
Now, she heads to Budapest, Hungary, the nation where she finished third in the women’s 100m final at the 2023 World Championships, with her main focus on impressing as she works on ensuring she has one of the best exits from the global stage.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has been competing for more than 20 years on the global stage, inspiring generations and as she bows out, all eyes will be on her at the World Championships.
