Pedro Porro says Thomas Frank has signed a player who is simply ‘magic’ for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has lavished praise on one of the club’s newest signings, describing him as a player who is “simply magic” and tipping him to transform Ange Postecoglou’s side this season. The Spanish full-back, who has quickly become a fan favourite in North London for his marauding runs and relentless work rate, revealed that he has been blown away by the talent and personality of the player Thomas Frank once helped shape into a Premier League star.

Porro, speaking after Spurs’ recent league victory, told reporters that the addition has given the squad a new dimension and injected energy into the dressing room. “He’s just magic with the ball,” Porro said with a grin. “Every time he’s on it, you can feel something is about to happen. It’s not just about skill, though – he has intelligence, timing, and he works for the team. That’s what makes him special.”

While Porro didn’t hold back in his admiration, he also credited Brentford manager Thomas Frank for developing the player’s game during his time at the Gtech Community Stadium. “You can see the influence Thomas Frank had on him,” Porro added. “He came from a good system, where he learned how to press, how to be brave on the ball, how to make the right decisions under pressure. Now he’s brought all of that to Tottenham, and we are benefiting.”

Tottenham supporters have already warmed to the new arrival, whose combination of flair and tenacity fits perfectly with Postecoglou’s high-octane style of play. The club has been on a mission to re-energise the squad and move away from the more pragmatic football of recent years, and this signing seems to embody that change. Porro’s comments suggest that morale inside the camp is high, with players excited to link up with a teammate who can make the difference in tight matches.

Porro went on to emphasise how quickly the player has settled in. “Sometimes new players need weeks or months to adapt, but he feels like he has been here for years,” the defender said. “He understands what the coach wants, he speaks with everyone, he laughs, he competes – it’s like he was born to play for Tottenham.”

Analysts have also pointed out that this acquisition shows how Spurs are becoming more shrewd in the transfer market. By targeting players already proven in the Premier League, they reduce the risk of adaptation issues and can hit the ground running. Thomas Frank’s Brentford have a reputation for discovering and refining talent, so Tottenham’s recruitment team will be delighted to have secured one of the Bees’ standout performers.

With the season still young, fans will be eager to see how far the “magic” Porro described can take Tottenham. If the early signs are anything to go by, this could be one of the most impactful signings of the campaign – one that helps Spurs compete for a top-four finish and perhaps even push for silverware under Postecoglou.
