New York Jets HC Makes Serious Statement About QB Aaron Rodgers – Gridiron Heroics

The New York Jets are going from a 7-10 season in 2023 right into a season where many feel it is Super Bowl or bust. That is what a healthy Aaron Rodgers can do for your franchise.

Rodgers, however, has missed a few off-season workouts that has led many in the media to question whether he will be fully ready for the season. Head coach Robert Saleh commented on that exact topic.

As usual, Aaron Rodgers is reportedly throwing passes with zip, rolling out when he needs to, and taking charge of the offense for the Jets.

With nine practices under his belt, the 40-year-old quarterback has many forgetting last season’s torn Achilles tendon:

“He looks like he never missed any time,” coach Robert Saleh said after the team’s 90-minute scrimmage on a steamy Saturday.

Rodgers has been solid throughout camp and sparkled on several days — reminiscent of his first camp with the Jets last summer. But the fact he’s coming off such a serious injury and rendering it a non-factor as he practices every day has New York feeling optimistic about its quarterback nearly 11 months removed from surgery.

“He looks really good,” Saleh said.

During the Jets’ scrimmage, Rodgers didn’t throw any touchdown passes — one drive was short-circuited by a high snap from Joe Tippmann that the QB couldn’t handle and another by a fumble by rookie Isaiah Davis. But Rodgers moved New York’s starting offense up and down the field on his four drives, three of which ended with field goals.

It seems as though Rodgers has once again proved he doesn’t need much practice to get back into mid-season form.

The Jets will won’t get any breaks opening their season on the road against the reigning NFC Champions. The Jets will travel to Santa Clara to take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week one.
